Pretty nice score for being a mobile processor. Looks like the performance would be right on par with an E6600 if it were at 2.4Ghz.

Mich, you can probably keep your FSB voltage at or near stock. I only needed to increase the CPU core voltage for my overclock. Same for the SPP.

Edit: Very nice run, by the way. Would you care to run it at 1384 FSB to see how it compares to the Core 2 Duo at the same overclock?

I have a quad core so idk if this is valid
From what my friend tells me i have to divide by four so it would be 8.738 is what im getting.

Actually, I would guess you have about a 2.5-3.0GHz Pentium 4 single or maybe older model dual core. Or the AMD equivalent. Superpi isn't multithreaded; you just got a bad score. Nice try.

No no, a 3ghz Pentium 4 struggles to crack 45 seconds.
AMDs are rather average at SuperPi compared to Intels, so I don't doubt that he has a Phenom. Still, I'd expect it to be a bit quicker than that. Ah well.

How do you not have a Windows Experience Index?

I bet yours is like 5.9 depending on your video.

Good Guess
Only just installed vista a couple of days ago, i didn't know what the windows experience index was.

If not for that meddling hard drive! Throw some SSDs in RAID0 and come back!

I wondered why you didn't have the index because every Vista install I have done always tests the hardware immediately after the installation part of setup completes. I think I'm at 5.2 or something that is CPU limited.

Hey guys, if you want I'll start making a new thread seeing as this one isn't being updated any more. Seems like I'm tumbling further down the leader board. :scared:

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Edit: Does anyone know what the two different colored dots mean on the PS3 client? Ones in Europe are a bright yellow (as they all were with the original version) and elsewhere they are all very pale yellow.

Edit2: Whoa...This was not the F@H thread...disregard that!

Everyone has Q6600s now. Except me.

The good news is I just found out my motherboard is compatible with them so thankfully an upgrade wouldn't be too expensive. I more than likely wont do that though, but instead wait for the new Quad Cores to come out and just upgrade my motherboard. :/

48.250 I gots... but thats with Photoshop, Win Media Player, Firefox and two msn windows open if that affects it. lol

Interesting.. I wouldn't have thought it would've worked with standard motherboards but it looks like one of the guys who reviewed it has exactly the same motherboard as me.

Only an 8x multiplier though..
The Xeon CPU's are supposed to be cherry picked quads. At least thats what they say over at OC forums.

Which would make sense, but after some research there are plenty of people out there who disagree arguing that it's never been substantiated.

They do have a higher temperature tolerance though, about 10C higher I think and they start at a lower voltage.

Misconception. Apparently they were just tested at 10C higher, they are rated at the same 'tjunct' or something as the desktop series, which is 100C I believe.

Nevertheless, I found out today my old motherboard (Asus P5B-Deluxe) is compatible with the 45nm quads as well, so once the Q9450 or Q9550 come out, that's what I'll get. I thought I was going to have to purchase a different motherboard to get the 45nm which is why I had considered a 65nm but now I'll just wait until mid-next month.:)

PS: You're screwed though, Eric. Neither the 680i or 780i will support the quad core 45nm. They will however support the 45nm dual cores.

Is that with a bios update?

NVIDIA
Intel Socket LGA775
Full support for Intel Penryn (Yorkfield & Wolfdale), Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, Pentium
Isn't that why the 780i was released? New Penryn quads.
