JT,
Please update the OP to include Scorpion as technical advisor
Thanks

I lol'ed at that. Ha

I'm excited for the race tonight. The question is who will be able to match bo's stellar near-wearless tire technique? As for the rest of us, lets eat dem tarrs!

What exactly are the rules on tires?

You can run any compound as long as it isn't mixed sets (mediums on the front/softs on rear)

I busted a few 1:18's without draft but they are hard to come by. Haven't been on softs much to know what they do.

It wasn't the lap times or tire wear that I was referring too

Run whatever you want. I'm considering 2 stops on softs, but may change strategies once the race is underway.

I guess softs still rule. Good race guys.

You read my mind. Softs ftw. I guess PD has work to do. If softs win all the time, where is the strategy?

And don't take my post as complaining. I had fun running this race. Wonder if mediums or softs will rule at the Valley?

I Believe this statement to be false, Very close race till the end. Softs may not prevail @ Grand Valley.

Also im going to need a tune for the RX-7 please. 👍 :gtpflag:

RR and I were very far off you, bo and mike on the softs. There was no way I could have caught up. Maybe on a different track.

preliminary testing gives no advantage to either tire on Grand Valley, given the 25 lap distance.
yes the softy's will have to make two long pit stops but will gain 3 seconds a lap over the medium's who will just have to make on pit stop.
Hard's will not have to make a pit stop, they will easily make the 25 lap race distance.
average pit stop time (entry to exit) is around 32 seconds

lap times on softs around 1:48's on mediums 1:51's on hards it will be around 1:53's

if you do the math all tire combinations and pit strategy should have all three tire/pit strategies finishing around the 38-39min mark.

Congrats to BK for the win last night. It was a very interesting race with all the strategies going on, especially on such a short track. I really enjoyed the race and think I got to race with just about everyone at one point or another.

Thanks to Scorpion for the preliminary track info for next weeks race. I think strategies will be quite different next race.

See you on the track!

Uh oh, another fast guy. Any lag issues last night? Scorp, you're freakin' me out a little.

I noticed some cars were a little twitchy but there were no smoke outs, lunging or left right swings. No clock issues.

I'm not fast, just consistent :sly:
I had no lag issues at all just could not get around slower back markers fast enough to get up to Roadrash and JT

Logan you racing this week? or next week?

Scorpion you gave me a hell of a run there in the beginning of the race. I had a hard time getting by you until your tires wore out

Maybe, if I got paid, I'd practice as much as Scorp.:) I may be back next week, but probably the week after. How many in the field, last night?

I had one glitch. Big improvement over what we had the past few races.

I had a great battle with DA6 last night until that wall jumped out in front of me. After that I had to pit and I had no chance.

Great. Now I've got my keys, but I can't remember where I parked.

Don't you have one of the doodle boppers on your car antenna so you can find it?

Great battle indeed. The fun part with those slow cars like the Miatas, is once you're behind someone, planning when to make your move to overtake...and make it stick. You have to plan several turns ahead. Or if someone is catching up (like Dangit did to me on lap 36) to you, knowing where they will try to go around you while hoping you can defend. I had fun even though Godangit made a last lap pass to have me finish 8th (damn tires lol).

When I find my car, I'm going to go get a doodle bopper. First thing.

Dangit seventh? Oh man, this is a fast bunch.

I have so much rust built up I have no idea where to begin knocking it off.

hey get your paper weights ready that new track is suppose to be 30 km oval. use your paper weight to hold down x come back in 4 to 5 minutes and you might be in a turn
