hey get your paper weights ready that new track is suppose to be 30 km oval. use your paper weight to hold down x come back in 4 to 5 minutes and you might be in a turn

I smell something brewing

I seriously hope PD does something about it...soon.

Don't hold your breath. I can hear it now" oh wow we just became aware of this and it will take a lot of time and research to fix this problem. But hey, here have some more paint chips to make you feel better".

Well that's not good. Only paint chips? No horns?

At least its now front page news. The "solution" of 12 or less is all we can do for now.

That will most likely be their cure. Simple fix dedicated servers. But thats not going to happen. Online play is what keeps a game going and making $$$$$ for the developers in forms of DLC. Can anyone honestly say they are going to buy a 30km oval track to race off line by themselves? I know I've got better things to do. I've seen a lot of other racing games go away quickly due to shabby online conditions, so if PD wants to keep their fans happy and keep making $$$$$ they better get their act together quickly

with the statement of 12 or less in mind, do we have a sign up sheet for Thursday? I'm pretty far down the reserve list and I would like to know my chances of racing. Thanks.

I think with our current process and room settings we should all be able to race. I think with the elimination of of the information we are asking the network to deal with (damage, visible, mechanical, mics.) we should be fine. Last week some cars were lagging but the times were fine.

Show up if you can. BK is right especially with you, no practice needed. Just a fun casual race.

I'm going to leave the list as is. If you can make it great if not no worries. This way we don't have to worry about people signing up. I'll get a head count in my lounge before I open the public lobby

Im running 1:49's, for about 6 laps on softs pushing hard. I need practice at this track those low speed corners kill me.

I ran 1:48:8's for 6 laps then my tires were little melted piles of goo. I'm not going for tire strategy this week I'm just going for fast laps and some good racing.

48's sound about right. We could see some 47's by race day. This track eats tires like gum drops. I'll be tire testing tomorrow

I can run 47's (47.5 best so far),but have to push too hard to do it. If I run 48's-49's I can get 10+ laps on softs. Still working on the setup for this car, I'm wearing out rear tires before I do the fronts.

I don't think it's all the fault of the track eating tires, this car is just terrible. With the downforce it has, and supposedly a touring car, it just should have much better grip than it does.

So that's like 6 laps on softies for me. Lol. I'll test when I get home tomorrow.

I drove 5 laps today on med tires w/ default tune, in the low 51s

Well by the looks of the update PD has chosen not to address the online racing PROBLEM. But hey you can predict tire wear in long B Spec races now. Wow can't wait to sit and watch my B driver run an hour long race and make sure he's on the right tires. Oh and we get 10 more pretty colors to paint our lounges. Oh it's gonna be a good day.

Wish I could have ran some laps last night , maybe we can run a few practice races tonight , anyone gonna be on, I wonder if anyone has tested online bug since update

As far as the update nothing seems to have changed. Nothing was mentioned as far as a fix. Don't hold your breath on that one.

They didn't fix the problem in this update. This 2.03 update was not on the "official" update schedule (I believe they promised updates every 2 months, so the next "big" one should be in February). This 2.03 update was to fix some other "f" ups by PD - you know really important stuff having to do with electric cars and picking colors for my menu home screen, (I don't know what happened to the guys who make the patterns for helmets and suits). It seems like the online racing issues are going back at least to April of '11, it just been getting worse or more noticeable with each update. I really cant understand how this isn't priority number 1 . . . oh wait actually I can, with some quick math: On the news page of GTPlanet awhile back they quoted a total sales figure of 7+ million copy's of GT5 sold. Let's go with a conservative number say 2.5 million for those that buy the DLC packs (Pack 1: $12.00, Pack 2: $4.00, Pack 3 $10.00). That totals up to a whopping $62,500,000!! Double that to 5 million DLC sales, which I think is completely doable, and you get $125,000,000. I think PD has sucked enough teet from the cash cow that it needs to sit down and do some serious tinkering with the GT5 online code. The DLC content seems to be getting ridiculous in my opinion, oh I'll buy it because I have to have everything:crazy:, but Leaf?, Mini Clubman? VW 1200? and the exact Jaguar XJR-9 that we all ready have?:grumpy:

All most every league has suspended their races. The suggestion floating around now is to do 2 rooms of 8, then take the top 4 of those and race for a final heat. That's a bunch of bull.

If it's not fixed by next month, I see a lot of people abandoning ship.

I dont understand why people are suspending stuff? This bug isnt new............ its only new to gtplanets home page.

we could always jump to rfactor 2. 👍
