Not true at all. Japan has just as much pointless modification on mechanically stock cars as we do. F&F is hugely popular over there, too.

Not to start up a fight or anything, but if I'm correct drifting started in Japan, and that's practically rice right? Because the drifters don't go fast enough for all those "functional bodykits" and spoilers to be put to any use. And I'm sure the bodykit adds to the overall hp of the car, right?

Not that I live in England or anything, but I see enough of it to know that it sucks.

Seeing all the Pug's, Clio's, Saxo's and VW's just barely going 30mph, being pushed to the limits, sounding like a hoover and having as many lips on the front bumper as a supermodel thats recently had botox injections makes me want to cry

[EDIT] That is the exact definition of English Rice [/EDIT]

no drifters are not rice, they don't have 20 inch chrome wheels on a car that can't even go anywhere, and they are tuned functionally both outside and inside. and they go fast!

I am not condoning him calling it rice... but basically, it is kinda scary when people decide to do some weirdo stuff to amazing cars.
I'd much rather a normal NSX that could whip them.

Drifters wouldnt want to put wings and stuff on there car, Itd only make it harder to break traction. Drifting is nothing to do with your car, its about how you drive it that counts.

drifters sometimes REMOVE spoilers off the back to keep rear downforce to a minimum. the weight is on the front of the car.

drifting requires a very high amount of driver skill.

drifters and rice are about as different as chocolate and s*it

I'd like to know what kind of photography equipment was used. Some of those shots are really cool.

All that stuff is a really simple camera trick of keeping the lens open and extended period of time. Now you aren't going to pull it off with some disposable camera. You definately would need to lay down some good money for a model which lets you hold the shutter open for long than the normal click. You can get all kinds of crazy effects with it.

Oh and those picture list one of the many reason I would like to move to Japan myself.

here here! i wanna move there too.

maybe some day i will? :P

as for the cameras yeah u need a better camera, but not anything insane. something costing $400 or so might be able to do it. if u open the shutter and its helladark the only things that will get captured by the film are lights. if those lights move they will start to blur/smudge over the film, if at some point the camera then flashes, it will illuminate everything that was dark before, but only for a second. creating crazy effects ;)
