I think some of that info is wrong, it's probably goin to retail for $50, lol. I'm wondering, now that they have licenses cars, will they use real names, or keep the body type names. Also online play would be nice.

It's about time a new TXR came out.

I just hope you don't have to do a bunch of lame stuff to race people this time around.

Well TXR01 would actually be the third in the series. TXR was the first followed by TXR2/TXR0(same game).

heres another ....i have slowly let myself believe its all true as well, but having followed zero one in japan since it was released im still skeptical. for one its called shutokou battle 01 in japan, which logically implies it would be tokyo xtreme racer 01 in the states. tokyo xtreme racer 3 is a strange title choice, but really a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. the 19.99 ptice tag is almost as unbelievable as the nov. 18th release date but only time will tell. and i thought ubi soft picked the title up anyways....my head hurts:banghead: ..but its a good hurt:D

I guess TXR0 is implied literally, as in Zero. Like most things in Japan, Zero is a better version, not necessarily a continuation. TXR3 would be the sequel to TXR2 from the Dreamcast.

I don't know why it's only $19.99, TXR0 sold butt loads.

Okay I know that, but are they going to call it TXR01, or TXR3,

P.S . I just played TXR on my dreamcast, and I can't believe I thought it looked so awesome 5 years ago,

 i best pre-order that ****! Did you see that one screen on the official page where the car was in the tune shop, the last button said "engine change" it wasnt highlight for that car, but it looks like perhaps you'll be able to do engine swaps on some cars? that'd be sweet.

From the top of the crave page it doesnt look good, the first one looks better, but i hope im wrong and this one is gunna be way better

alright, as a self proclaimed shutokou battle/tokyo xtreme racer guru here goes...

as a reward for your keen observational skills IDAFC21 i give you an answer to the best of my knowledge. yes the option for engine swaps is available for any car with over 2000 k/m on it or on any car after you complete the game 100%. you can choose from configurations for optimal weight distribiution and power ie; I4-I6, box4 or box6, V6 or V8 and a 2 or 3 rotor engine. not exactly sure which you can get as turbo or NA but i think im right on the rest. and the old school trick of letting the car run on pause all night doesnt work anymore, genki wants to make you earn it :D :D

and to you Squid, i think the crave page was just thrown together to get the word out they are the ones that are going to distribute the game. it should be an exact port of shutokou battle 01 from japan with hopefully a few addon's (please honda of america, please) but most likely an exact port.

and Chaos Fire, i know twenty bucks blew my mind as well, but whatevers clever i guess

It probably means that you will be able to upgrade to a more powerful engine.

I saw a green S13 in one of the pictures, I'll buy it just for that j/k. I hope the physics have been improved since the first PS2 game.;)

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

but thats good news about the engine swaps, that should make things interesting. Jr0ck, i have a question for you. Im not really too concerned w/ the physics part of it, but what i wanna know is. how are the engine sounds and sound effects and what-not of shotokou battle? Cuz the sound effects in txr0 were quite...bland. are they improved any? i sure hope so

i think its 20 bucks, because all of other games are like 50, and if its new for 20 mass amounts of people will buy, plus this game has its own cult following, i bought zero for 20 too, its a marketting strategy i supose, who cares its 20 bucks:)

well IDAFC21, i have as good of news as i can give. although im lacking any first hand knowledge, ive lurked around the
gamefaq's sb01 forum long enough to have heard the engine noises actually differ from car to car. i meen we're not talking gt3 by any means, but its still a good thing to be able to hear a slight difference between a RB26DETTand a 4G63T.

Good, as long as theres SOME kinda variety i'll be happy. but really, the physics, graphics, sound effects, dont really mean all that much to me, TXR is just a fun friggin game to play and the FIRST real street racing game that was ever out there

The engine sounds are real until you buy the performance exaust systems in TXR and GT3. In GT3, my Skyline, Viper, and Lotus Esprit V8 sound exactly the same. GT3's sound isn't all that great either

If the engine swap option makes it's way to the final version of the game, I hope they don't screw it up like AutoModellista did, and not let you tune it.

Monster7, the engine swap option has been part of the game since day one. tokyo xtreme racer 3 is the u.s. port of shutokou battle 01. i seriously doubt they would take stuff out of the game in the u.s. release. im not sure if ur able to tune the engine after the swap though.

If you can't tune it, I'll be so mad that i'll be on the verge of not buying, but i will. :D
