Oil Change Bug

Just bought the 1970 R/T. Changed the oil, and the hp is now too high to enter the seasonal event.

Anyone know PD is aware of this problem and/or working on a fix?

This is not a bug. This has been happening ever since GT3. Even when you do an oil change on a new car, the HP will go up.

Not a bug. Been like that since GT3. Won't be "fixed." Put a hundred or so miles on it and the oil will start to degrade again.

You are correct, i.e., technically the hp requirement is not a bug. However, a fresh oil change should not put the car over the cap for these events. PD -- Please change the cap to allow for fresh oil.

I bought my charger brand new and it was fine, I don't think they cost all that much brand new.

Why shouldn't it? if the cap is 500hp and you have a 505hp car you shouldn't be allowed to use it for that race. Why should it matter if that extra 5hp is a result of an oil change or an exhaust or a turbo upgrade? You are over the limit either way.

Don't be so ignorant. I don't care much about it, but I can see what he means. There is a event for cars with 246hp, so you go buy a car that says "Max Power: 246hp". Then you get some wheels and aero, and out of habit, change the oil, and you are now sitting at 253hp. You can't enter a race anymore. Maybe that cars Max Power should say 253hp...

Changing the oil is a modification in the same way that changing an exhaust or a turbo is. I don't see what the issue is?

Perhaps the oil change bit should have before and after hp like the other mods but other than that it shouldn't be an issue.

Yes it should and so should engine maintenance.

But after some races the power can get even higher after the engine has run a couple of miles.

Like my C4 WRC got here @ 32x bhp.
after oil change it was 334 bhp.
Now after a couple of races it's 340 bhp.

It's completely stock tho!

So break the habit. You know what the limit is, you should know what the car is currently putting out, therefore... y'see?

Bought a brand new Challenger for the event and did an oil change (out of habit) not even thinking that a small 5hp change would omit me from the event. :/ Anyone have a stock '70 Challenger (without oil change) I could BORROW for the event and then I can send it back when I finish?

You could drive it around on Indy to get the oil dirty and loose a few HP.

I'm with you Ken, Oil Changing raises the stock HP so...don't oil change it prior to race...Simple, a limit is a limit that's why it's there, and it's certainly not a bug...

Just did the Fiat one, did pretty much all mods bar engine / raising HP, came 2nd first go these challenges are cool...I'e they are actually a challenge!
