Oil changes in the pits would be nice

I can't believe there are still (n00bish) people out who believe that crashing your car causes it to need a chassis refresh. How many times has this idiocy been debunked?!?

If you drive for ten yards WITHOUT CRASHING, you will still 'need' a chassis refresh. Of course, you don't actually need one until you notice a change in the handling of the car, but the game will allow you to blow your money on the procedure even if you never crash. Even if you only drive ten yards.

Maybe not chassis work but at Le Mans 24hr it is not unusual for teams to swap engines and trannies and other major parts during the race. I doubt it would be worthwhile to add that ability to the game for one or two races, though.

Actually it is. Changing engines and transmissions mid race is kind of against the rules

18.9 - During the race, under pain of Exclusion of the car, it is forbidden to change:
- the engine or any of these parts, i.e. the cylinder head(s), cylinder head, cover(s), oil pan and
engine block, parts that will be attached together by means of seals.
- the main gearbox and differential casings,
- the chassis or the monocoque structure.

Would be nice to have the stuff allowed in real races like wing, chassis, and tire pressure adjustments. Although it would be difficult to set up a pit with any more then the current settings when playing online.

I think this is a good idea, when i do the Indy 500 to get some quick Xp (it is a good way to get xp and when you win you get the XJ13) and after im done i have about 4 or 5 miles to i have to change my oil, so once i do a longer endurance the change oil light will come on near the end of the race, so i totaly agree with this.

wow in theory lets repaint the car mid-race too. "really"? Oil changes mid race? GTFOH. You give me more than one real race event where mid race oil changes actually happen n I'll retract my post. But since you most likely wont find any, and in tune to the fact this is a sim not some lame azz arcade wannabe, you should pawn your game and reconnect the Wii

Look at all the tard ass noobs that reply, get real and understand c4birdiemaker meant the LOBBY come to my room tonight and lets see what you got. You join you will see real competition not no lamers like yourself

ARE YOU THE KING OF ALL NOOBS IN GT5 OR JUST GTPLANET?
Its FACT that YOU HAVE TO rebuild the engines and chassis on the car in the game in order to have max hp.

Cap, if he is king of the noobs on gt5, then he can't possibly be king of noobs on gt planet. But the king of the noob tards CAN b king of gt planet and gt5. Maybe the king of said noob tards could be called a governor or a prime minister of gt planet. Either way, being king of both would b impossible. There are far too many peasant noob tards for one king/governor/prime minister to preside over....or something like that

Would be nice to have an oil change option in the tune settings between races in a Championship series or allow the player at least visit GT Auto.

THIS
The Championsip system in GT5 is incredibly stupid, like many other things

I've said it so many times... Get rid of the GT Auto section and just add those somewhat usable ones (rims, paint, RM) in the upgrades section.

I just have never understood why you have to do an oil change, wash your car or go through more countless menus just to get something simple done.

When you buy any car is it so difficult that it would come with a fresh oil change and that oil would never need to be changed out? During longer pit sessions (endurance races) why can't all those things be changed out (longer pit vs. shorter pit)? After a race why can't they put in new oil and wash the car?

The GT Auto was novel back then. It just seems silly now. Engine rebuild? Maybe. Chassis restoration? Maybe if it had a gauge to tell you your frame is wacked.
