OK, guys, please give me ideas on what to do next. I'm 100% complete. I plan on restarting once I get my wheel set up, but not until then, and I don't know when that will be. So in the meantime I need a few projects.
  • I've got gold on B license and everything in A except A7. I'll get there, and move on, but that's not enough reward in itself.
  • I try the Weekly Series once in a while, but I'll never get enough free time or talent to be competitive.
Mostly I guess I'm looking for interesting prize cars to win. I have most of the likely candidates from each series thanks to save-n-reload, so please recommend other cars I should go for or interesting challenges... hopefully I can fill the holes in my garage and have fun in the process.

I don't know if you have it already or not, but a challenge for me was trying to win the LM Altezza in Blue, racing in the Amateur Altezza Challenge. It took me probably 20 do-overs on Cote d'azur, winning Vitz after useless Vitz. :banghead:

I had to restart the series when I won the pink Vitz though, definitely a keeper. After I finally won an Altezza, it is the yellow one. I gave up on blue, so good luck!!!!!

Try going after the green Supra or S2000 in either Pro or Am. class I think, cant recall

At one stage there I went through a period where everything I won was black, Camaro Race car, Poly 001, S2000, plus others, quite strange really

Good luck with it anyway mate 👍

Try for all gold on the license tests. A7 isnt really that hard. I find that A7 is one of the tests that is easier if you use automatic and just concentrate on braking and turning.

Well, that's what I'm working on now. In the last month I've golded all B and A1-6 and A8. I'm working on A7 and I'll get it. I just will kill myself if I don't do something between license sessions.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

Thats weird. I got the blue Altezza first try.

What is so hard about the licese test A-7 is the way you have to adapt to the changing handling characteristics of the Camaro once the tires warm up. Yes, if you notice in other licese tests, your car will get more grip, the closer you get to the gold time. If you stop, then restart the test, the grip reduces, and returns to normal, so keep at it once you start. The Camaro will handle a lot different when the tires have more grip, so don't use the same brake points, braking length, turning power, throttle position in the turn, etc.

When the tires are warm, brake a little earlier than where the "line" indicates. Use that right turn rumble strip to help the Camaro turn easier. Once at the rumble strip, you can reduce your turning force, and thus increase your exit turn speed. Oh, I find it helps if I enter the turn closer to the wall than the demo, so drive a little bit left of the "line when you approach the turn." Also, remember don't accelerate to hard when driving through the turn. If you hear a constant tire squeel, you're aaccelerating too hard.

Very interesting!
I also have observed a similar increase of grip but came to a different conclusion.
My conclusion was that PD have provided more grip on the correct line.
I golded A7 in four goes 2 nights ago (sorry neon) and B8 in 5 goes so I am not sure about the tires loosing grip if you stop.
However on the S tests I am sure that the tires do have changing levels of grip.

You could have saved before the last race and keep reloading it until you got the blue Altezza LM Race Car.

When I reach 100% I'm going to buy a new memory card for the new game. I've just become so attached to my current game. I couldn't bare to delete it.

Neon, have you gotten the R390 road car? It is an often over-looked car because the other cars you can won in the series are GT40 race, Calibra, And XJ220 Race car, the only place you can choose (save and reload) them. I'm pretty sure its the PRO Gran Turismo World Champo.

edit: i looked at the prize car list and saw that it was in fact the Pro GT World Champ. BTW, is the R390 road tied at second for most valuable car? The Gt-one road and the R390 road both sell for 550,000 cr.

c_f, I do have that car - I used it with Turbo 2 and the rest of the options (544 hp) for the Monaco Enduro. I have the race version, and the street TS020 (I forget if I have the racer). Thanks for the suggestion!

On a side note, I ran A7 for an hour last night, and shaved a massive 0.006" off of my time. 0.021" to go - should take about 4 hours at the same rate...

:D I know exactly where you are coming from. That is probably the hardest test to gold except for maybe R6. (or B1:p )

I've decided to start over. I'm shooting for another Day 229 thingy, but this time with all golds. I need to do the S and R license, but everything else was done last night.

I'm having a lot more trouble than I thought I would. I haven't played much GT3 in the past 7 months, and it shows in my playing skills.

Neon, can't believe you're so close, but so far from reaching the gold on this one. I noticed, recently, and the first time I tried for golds, that if I kept playing the same test for a long period of time, and a hour qualifies, my reaction time goes way down. My button pushing strength goes down, too. Fatigue really sneaks up on you. Check to see if you are braking, pushing on the square button, hard enough, when braking. Full force should be used. Make sure you switch to the accelerator button quickly, too. Fatigue will slow you down to the point where reaching the gold time is impossible.

I was stuck at 99% and I had stopped playing for about a year until I finally was interested enough to try and get Time Trial 10. Then once 100% reached, I stopped again playing GT3 for about 3 months. Then I decided to gold all licenses (I stopped at 42-3-3, with IA8, S6, S7, S8, R6 and R7 still to be done) and I'm now playing in the on-line racing section of the forum. The problem indeed is to find something motivating enough to make you go for it.
When I'm fed up with being last in the OLR events rankings, I think I'll start a new game and go for a day 229.
I hope by that time GT4:P or GT4 is released.
Meanwhile, I'm playing again at Colin McRae 3.

Edit
Golding A7 licence took me about 200 attempts. I just kept trying and trying, until by chance I got in the same run a clean braking on the outside, a wall-free apex, an early acceleration and a wall-free outside. That made 14'195, which improve my previous 14'209 by only the skin of a tooth, but that was enough. I just didn't try this one anymore.
On the opposite, IA2 is extremely easy to gold, and it's also a nice run I like to try and improve again and again. (15'594 on my second attempt today, only 0.002 more than my best time). When I got  at A7, I was just running this one until I was  again.
