It sorta looks like the type of cars the nascar drivers use in that other type of racing they do with the firebirds or tans ams, i forget which.

Wow, that looks like it belonged in the trans am series. Yet I don't ever remember a Supra in any trans am races since the early 90's.

Whatever it is, the engine sounds 600hp+-ish and its incredible cool!

Doesn't it look a bit like one of those FIA GT monsters?

By the sound of it I would guess that it might be some type of a 1/4 mile drag car, but if it is it's not real fast because of lack of chute on the rear.

well the description calls it a supra gt3, in costa rica :odd: although further research says it runs in GT1 with driver Javier Quirós, people seem to refer to it as the super supra, best time round the Guácima race track was 58.132 if thats any indication of ability, also there is a similarly coloured altezza running in gt3 class
heres some other vids of it

site i found it on called the race/championship the Campeonato Nacional de Velocidad
various pics, and that supra here :D some proper beastly cars there :scared:

Hmm, some of thos cars look like old trans am cars. Now that I realize it with the better quality pictures, the body of the supra happens to be shaped after the Abflug supra.....

There are awsome cars in the Campeonata De Velocidad.
Nissan Almera Turbo GT1-475HP.Valverde Racing.

That's indeed the 'Super Supra'. I live in CR and I've seen it in action a couple times, and yes the first time it came out it wiped out the competition. People were mostly talking about the also brand new Nissan Tiida (last picture SERGE posted) that Emilio Valverde was going to run, but the Supra ran away with it practically. Last I heard, the Supra blew a cylinder so it couldn't maintain much dominance.

I'm not terribly into the championship here. I really don't like the track layout for starters.

Autódromo La Guácima

Runs counter-clockwise. It lends itself to different versions, but for the GT category races the full version is used.

Mind you I haven't been on it personally on a track day, but something about it just feels bland to me.

That track looks brilliant, why don't I see it in racing games? Looks like there are two variations of that track also...a long and a short?

huh...Someone turn PD onto this series....

Looks like they use SCCA GT-1 rules governing this series. sort of.

I believe so. The Go-kart championship coverage is hard to catch so I can't be sure, but I'd hazard a guess that's where they race.
