I don’t see Autumn Ring / Autumn Ring mini in the above list.
If anyone was interested,

[ver.GT1, GT2] (fate: no show in GT3; redesigned in GT4)
The redesigned Autumn Ring made its first appearance in GT Concept.
^ Hmm, thanks for pointing that out, however:

^ Based upon further observation. The scenery of Autumn Ring is different compared to Autumn Ring '90s, but the overall track layout of both tracks are completely identical unlike Grand Valley Speedway on which has 3 variations ('90s, Millenium, & the current GT4 vers.) over the course of time. :boggled:

-> On the Autumn Ring Mini on the other hand, the differences are quite obvious on the north portions of the track. The '90s had a nice sweeper-like 4th corner between the 3rd and 5th corner. While on the Proper or should I say the GT4 version had a more technical approach on the 4th corner and added a newly configured 5th corner and adding a completely new corner overall. Which means:

- Autumn Ring Mini '90s = 10 corners/turns

- Autumn Ring Mini (GT4-spec) = 11 corners/turns

:)

^ I don't think so:

Swiss Alps (featured in GT4)

Smoky Mountain South '90s (featured in GT2)

^ Alps features a more tigher-designed corners, compared to a more 'relaxed' design structure of Smokey South '90s ever was. ;)
Swiss Alps is clearly a redesign. Turn 4 was removed and turn 3 was connected to 5-now-4. Then the back section was reconfigured et voi là: Smokey mountain is turned into Swiss alps.

I love the Original Tracks! It is very hard to pic a favourite. People often say SSR11 but I think thats because that's the only track that got canned after GT1. If I had to say one track I would say Motorsports Land from GT2.

^ Well it may seem so. But this revision is so extensive (compared to the others {like GVR}), to the point I consider it as a entirely, completely different track/course. If you know what I mean. :sly:

(My 1st post on the newly revised format!)

I don't have a problem with DLCs, but do we really have to speculate about them when the game hasn't even been released yet? After all this time they better cram everything they have made onto the disc! :sly: Besides, I seem to recall KY himself saying that they have no plans for a DLC.

I thought that DLC is definitely confirmed with regard to cars at least with that article about the "black beast" being "recorded" by the polyphony team in the USA? I guess until it's released it can still make it onto the disc for launch though. No doubt we would all prefer that instead 👍

I would like to see them all too. If they were to include the SSR11. I hope it would be the version from GT1. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I like it better than the one in GT3.

Yeah, maybe it's just nostalgia, but I'd take the older fictional tracks over the newer ones. High Speed Ring was so much less boring in appearance back in its original stadium layout, and I loved the underpass and the nasty chicane in SSR11 (it tripped me up almost every time, and I had to hold my breath going through it, but I miss it anyway).

I know Grindelwald has no chance, being replaced by Eiger Nordwand, but I'd love to see that make a return. Rome-Night was also great, and with the new Rome Circuit and the ability to race at night it should be almost the same thing :D. Red Rock Valley and Smokey Mountain are the other two I'm holding out for. They'd look great in the sunset in HD :dopey:

Looks like that track creator was recently announced, if any of these old GT track won't be able to make it...we could just revive it.

Hmm, I can see a whole new batch of people in GT now:

Racers (w/ opponents)
Time Attackers
Friends/Teamates/Partners (just chilling @ track days/meets)
Trophy collectors
Collectors
Drifters
Tuners
Photographers
AND NOW TRACK CREATORS

What a whole new audiences I see.

💡

At some point GT needs all of their previous tracks. If there are duplicates with significant variation between generations then they should be listed by year. Thats a lot of tracks, but why not. I'm betting some older tracks have the possibility of allowing alternate configurations. It'd be nice. Specially if you add dynamic weather and day night cycle.

I could imagine if some of the old tracks, such as Rome Night in GT2 would be better known if PD had the room to put all the content on one disc instead of two.

SigmaViper11-> I explained that in detail earlier here in the thread. Thats why I use name extentions like Nuovo, '90s, '00/Millenium, Real, The 1st, etc. to separate each distinct original/city tracks to prevent confusion. ;)

Quick question, where are you getting those track maps from? I see the "gtracer" logo, but it's not yielding anything useful in Google (it's not what it used to be).

^ Its a Norwegian GT fan site called GTRacer, their address is www.granturismo.no. This site is very helpful for me to illustrate many race tracks that I'm trying to explain throughout GTP. ;)

-> I think the only ones missing from the site are the POD race track (GTC) & the difference between the two test tracks (Test Course '90s from GT1/2 & Driving Park Test Course from GT3/4). :)

Smokey Mountain (GT3)
Green Forest Roadway
Tahiti Road
Tahiti Circuit/Dirt R3
Rome Circuit '01
Special Stage Route 11 '96
Test Course '00
Red Rock Valley
Grindelwald
Rome Night
Seattle Short
Complex String
Super Speedway '01 (no, not that crappy dull Motegi)

And that's about it.

Oh, oops. My bad. Didn't read through all the posts, just kinda posted. Still, good idea. Now if only they implemented it.

I just want to point out something amazing: There has NEVER been a bad circuit in GT history, nothing boring, nothing overtly hard. All the circuits have been expertly designed (TBH I never liked complex string, but I appreciated it) wow. Whoever's designing these tracks... put him in touch with the FIA let him show 'em how it's done!!

^^
FIA did not build these tracks, as most fictional track in the GT is too dangerous to do races. But you're right the tracks in all GT series are wonderful. But I would like to see the race on Trial Mountain in real life. Trial Mountain is my favorite one.

I hated Hong Kong. The Paris track annoyed me too. But then again, I suck at GT. Oh well.

All I want (apart from tracks like GVS which are a safe bet) is SSR11. BUT, I want the original SSR11. The version with what we used to call 'That chicane'. That track was awesome. Post GT1 though, it has become too soft.

Edit: I see its in the list.. Good job people :)

There was a "Grindelwald" name in a list of track reference material folders from screenshot of a PD workstation from one of the recent Nurburgring videos from PD. As the old layout wasn't too different from the real one, I guess that if it gets included (there's a strong possibility in my opinion. In addition to being to that list, Grindelwald isn't very far from Kleine Scheidegg, the small town where Eiger Nordwand is located) it won't be much different than the old version.

Maybe it's just a language barrier, but he did not actually say that FIA built those tracks.

As for Trial Mountain, it's one of my all-time favourites too, right up there with Deep Forest. If I had to pick one, it would be Trial Mountain I guess!
