I've noticed this for a while now and just thought I'd make a post about it.

If someone asks a question that's been asked already, they are usually told to use one of the older threads.

If someone resurrects an old thread because it's about the question they want to know, then they usually get asked why they resurrected an old thread.

Where is the line drawn? How old of an old thread is it acceptable to revive?

That's a good question. Usually it's a good idea to make reference to the older thread, that way people know that you've looked at it and didn't find the answer you needed there.

Well i would say that if the question relates directly to the topic, then it really doesn;t matter how old the thread is.....but on the other hand, if you make a new thread it will get noticed more cuz its new!!! So i really dont know

Well i think if there is no point in reviving an old thread like about 6 months old if you have a qestion about it. just quote what you dont understand and post it in a newer thread of some relevance(sp?)

I, for one, encourage people to bring back old threads if they are actually relevant and are adding something to the discussion. I hate it when people revive old threads for no reason other than to sucker people into thinking they're new.

Certain people are just ***** artists and will complain no matter what.
