PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.....someone tell me how to turn off those annoying cheers, shouts and abnoxious crowd sounds. I am REALLY sick and tired of hearing them.

Why are you hanging out where the crowd is? You should be driving.
I almost never hear the crowd when playing. All I hear is the engine and tires.

The only time I ever heard the crowd was while waiting for the rally to start in the special events. .

As said before I think they are included in the sound effects.

All I can hear in private lounges is the damn crowd, most irritating thing about GT5 except for the online bug. It sounds like a mixture of cheering and vuvuzelas and drowns out most of the voice chat. I'm talking about when nobody is on track btw so maybe that's what the OP is also on about.

Why do very few people have this problem, am I missing something.

Yes, I hate the sound of the crowds while you are in lounge/lobby (ie: not on the track). They do seem a tad overly loud to me sometimes.
