I just read in chaser fan's thread that nitrous is able to be used on road courses as well as the drags. I'm sorry, but this is just not a good thing. This isn't NFSU PD!

I'm not one of those "damnit, its ruined! This suxxors!!" posters. I'll still buy the game and enjoy it to it's fullest. I just feel that this was a big mistake on PD's part.

This thread is pretty pointles don't you think. Theres plenty of other threads you could've posted you opinion on.
 
Well if you don't like it dont use it. :) It doesn't make the game any worse. And believe me if it wasnt in there then we would hear post after post about how PD should have put it in there. WE have been hearing that since the GT series was released. "I sure wish there was nitro in the next GT series" I cant even comprehend how many times I have read that question. :yuck:
 
Don't like nos? Don't use it. Simple I would have thought.

I've allways been of the opinion "the more stuff the better", hell it could be quite fun to have NOS in some cars.
 
Ok, then let me ask this question:

What if there is a time in the game that the AI uses the nitrous? Maybe at the higher levels. Then you would be forced to use it. Please note that I'm being hypothetical here. Yes, I know I dont have to use it, and I wont even if it means loosing time and time again. I just feel that in a game that has so much realism in it that they would have kept the nitrous in the drags only. It is my opinion and I am posting that. Remember, that's what forums are for, opinions.

And yes, I'm tired of all the "NAWZ should be in GT!" threads myself.
 
If the AI started using nitrous than the races might be closer, you might not win by 20 seconds anymore :). I hope to god if the AI does use nitrous it's only on the drag strip, I won't be using it on the circuits.
 
Oh I 'll try it out and have fun with it, but I won't use it for proper racing, especially in a race I havent already won. But the top speed tests could be fun with it.

I personally don't like nitrous but it's still a nice addition. Also I was wondering do cars that have nitrous weigh more than cars that don't.

Do you mean in the game or in real life, n real life they do, your adding components to the car, but I don't know about the game.
 
Well since the game is the "Real Racing Simulator" It represents real racing, Finally! In real racing in Most of the US where racing is concerned you will find someone with a Bottle in there Trunk or even the front seat none as Nitrous Oxide system/NOS! And also in Real Racing when Two competitors have NOS the Waiver for the race can be up to $10,000 just for an illegal Street Race, It happens in California all the time! So it being an option is just being opened minded and keeping it real! PS. It would be sweet to see the AI cars Squeeze on you every now and then too!!! 💡
 
O, some offroad cars use NOS to make up for power lost at high altitudes, and also some racing leagues use NOS to get a good start at the green flag. I think in the Audi turbo league in europe (or whatever its called) cars are allowed to use NOS. And also in many racing leagues OVERBOOST is allowed. Is OVERBOOST IN GT4?!?!?!?!
 
The Formula palmer cars use nitrous, only 2 or 3 shots per race for overtaking manouvers, but generally nitrous isn't used in motorsport.
 
Rally Cars using NOS would make for some Really nice Drift Videos if you can control the cars, I didn't know that NOS was Legal in Rally cars, Nice Update, Thanks!
 
They don't use it in the WRC or super 1600's that I've seen, they don't use it in the Rally raids and Dakar's, or in rally cross. I'm intrigued to know what rally carswould use it. Anyway, in motorsprts, the levels of nitrous is usually low, the advantage you get from it is usually very limited.
 
This makes me wonder.........can your ai apponents use nos too? cos if they can thats will be realyl annoying :grumpy:
 
the nitrous is good, but in a 100 point battle it doesnt have that much effect.... the other cars are so fast its not funny...

i use my nitrous... cos there's been races that are like 9 points.. i'm way ahead of the pack.. except for the dude in 2nd, who is still right on my ass :o oh go away u opel speedster turbos....
 
I know for sure it was allowed on The Pikes Peak Rally cars for a while. i think they might have outlawed it a few years ago though, im not sure. 1000BHP + NOS= one devilish car.
 
Hmm, the only race series going that I KNOW nitrouse is used in is thoes Palmers. I never knew it was ever use in rally's though, but I don't know too much about motorsport rules.
 
True, I wasn't thinking of drag racing at all, but your right.

I'm guessing for C'ships like the Polphony Cup (non-modified cars) and Endurance Races where ifit was allowed it would beused up in few laps at LeMans or five corners at the Nurb.

Soman that's a good question, I hope that it's not allowed in all races, It should be only allowed in Drag Racing and May be in some special open class/underground racing!
 
oh damn it, liveforspeed that is ridiculous. The best way to make races tight is to either make the AI better or rubber band them more so than in previous games. Giving them NOS is just idiotic. 👎

But it's probably not allowed in all races anyway, let's hope the usage of nos in the game is as conservative as possible. I agree with the thread creator, it isn't NFSU. Gran Turismo is about driving skill, not about how talented you are at pushing a button and swerving around the car ahead of you.


With that said, nothing could possibly turn me off about this game, and your avatar rules 👍
