Online Error *Disconnected from server* HELP

Online has become unplayable for me. And it's definitely the PD servers. I get disconnected from every race, whatever the server.

I've logged 700 hours in Warhawk, a few hundred with my daughter in LittleBigPlanet, and the wife has about 400 hours in Warhawk. These games and all others work flawlessly. So it's not my setup.

I used to get disconnected once in a while, but since the PSN has come back from its down time after the hack, it has been much more frequent. Last night I spent 45 minutes trying to race in different servers and got disconnected every time.

I'm almost ready to put down GT5 for good over this. It's really frustrating, especially since I don't get to play very often (kids, work, family, etc...). Setting up the wheel once a week just to sit in front of it with the DS3 in my hand trying to join races is getting unbearable.

Network is bad today. Disconnected 3 times this morning. I rarely have these issues, but seems to be getting worse.

Im getting disconnected all the time!!½:ouch: It all started after the update, anyone else got this problem? I can make my own server and then get disconnected after 2 minutes... I have a very good 100mb/s connection so it shouldnt be a problem. I can play on some servers but you're never 100% safe. I could play without any problems before the update!

Anyone else got this problem? I am getting very tired of this :yuck:

Is it a PD/Sony network issue?

I have no issues at all with internet, only racing online is a problem. I keep getting that error message. I presume I am not being kicked out, as it actually says "you have been kicked"

Is it a known issue, and is there anything I can do to improve it? Its getting reqlly frustrating now...

Happening to me all the time as well. It gets very frustrating after a while. And as well - i cannot see some friends on track. They are always loading the map all the time even tough as they said they are allready on the track - i hope PD/Sony will fix this issue in the upcoming maintance.

It's happend to me on many occasions. One very memorable 10 lap Nurburgring found me in 1st place at lap nine, only to be disconnected half way through..AHHHH!!
I don't know if there is an explanation other than the servers getting binned for a second and spitting us out. Everytime I'm able to rejoin immediately. One thing I would recommend is clearing out your cache in GT5 options regularly. I've heard this helps.

The cache thing has never really helped/hurt me, though I could be the exception to the rule.

Have you tried a wired connection to your router vs. wireless? If that doesn't help, you've got me.

This happened to me quite a few times. The problem is, once you've been disconnected you keep getting disconnected in other rooms as well. It's definitely a network issue. But this usually works for me:

Pull internet cable out of PS3.
After a few seconds, plug it back in.
Go to XMB menu and reconnect to PSN.
Done. You don't even have to quit the game.

It's hard to tell whose issue is causing the disconnects. I've been disconnected simply because my VIOP phone rang so I know that issue is with my network not Sony's.

I use a wired connection between PS3 and Router, but sometimes it appears too! I think one of the reason is the signal is too "weak", for example, you use a japan(you play in japan also) ac to join a Britain room, you may be disconnected quickly.

Solutions:
1.Try the rooms locates nearer to you first
2.and then try other rooms which you thought that you may be disconnected easier.

This happened to me as well. I deleted the friend off my PSN friends list and added him again and it seemed to fix the problem.
However I have had the same thing happen with someone not on my friends list and I have no idea how to fix that.

I've been having this problem since the first update(2.0, I believe)....kicks me off the network into the lobby, telling me that i have been disconnected, then some times it'll say "entry was refused due to network incompatibility with room host" I'm hard-wired, changed to static ip address and port forwarded my ps3 with no luck...sometimes it's o.k. for an hour or two but most times it's not. It also doesn't matter what the bars and stars look like in a room. The issue is not with my internet connection nor with playstation itself, like I said I get kicked to the lobby. I've also had problems not seeing other cars on the track while racing, sometimes they can see me even if I can't see them, very strange. I am wondering if it has something to do with a person's NAT type. I'm out of ideas and nobody else seems to have an answer, hopefully this well start happening to more people and get the attention of Polyphony. Right from the drop of the with this game they've dropped the ball for the online networking end of this game.

Do you have to do this every time you want to race?

Go to speedtest.net and run a test, tell us what you're looking at.

Once you run the test, you can simply click "share this result", then click "copy" once you do that click on the picture box that says "insert image" right click and paste and we'll see this:

It usually only happens when i join my first room. Sometimes it will happen again. It's really annoying.

not too bad. clear cache all the time, but still get issue.

That's a simply fantastic result actually. (low ping is very good to have, speeds are more then plenty)
You have router settings issues, try port forwarding or a DMZ connection if need be.

This has nothing to do with connection speed etc, it simply depends on how your connection is configured. I've tried three different connections, two of them works without any problem at all, the third was like a small preview of hell...

All connections had the same connection speed and worked great with other games and for browsing the internet. Seems like there simply are some routers or network configurations that doesn't run well with GT5 and I don't really think anyone knows why or even what configs that works and what doesn't. The error codes from the game doesn't provide much help either...

The only thing you can do if you get a lot of network error codes is to change something with your internet connection and hope for the best. Try switching from wireless to wire, or try another router or something. Trial and error...

Ive got the same issues the only thing that works for me is to reset my modem then turn on ps3. That usally will last the night. If it starts again and I still want to race I have to repeat the procedure. Sometimes just diconnecting the ethernet cable will work but resetting modem always works for awhile.

I had the same issues a while back. I had a bad/old router and a horrible ISP. We moved, I bought a new router and got a cable modem instead. Everything was fixed. IMO its all about your internet connection and setup.

The point of the speedtest is not actually speed (though in rare cases some internet can be simply to slow) but rather ping.
If your speed is at least 1 down, .4 up, that's fine. If your ping is less then 70ms, that's also probably not the issue.

With those deducted you can zero in on the problem, which can usually be solved by port forwarding or other changes in router/setup configuration.

By the wireless is a terrible idea, and causes a lot of DC's, so anyone not hardwired into their modem is asking for it, unfortunately.

I've had this MANY times. Made online very frustrating. Now, Here is a fix.
BUY A NEW ROUTER

Seriously. My old router

Best money I've spent. Only got disconnected once, and that was probably the host not me.

yea... people always complain about how there Internets fast yet they get disconnected, yet i have a 0.7 mbps connection and i don't lag in most games..

I've had the same problem 2 weeks ago getting disconnects 6 out of 6 times, but all has been fine since. Did not change any hardware or settings on my end, I would suspect PD has fixed something on their servers instead. :D

Best money I did not need to spend.

Maybe, but a good router is a good investment. Makes a huge difference in stability and speed. Never drops connection.
