Online events, which tend to be "cleaner"?

I have tried a few various online events, and the level of driving is appauling, has anyone discovered which events hold the better standard of driving?, similarly, which ones are the ones to steer clear of?

The higher PP races have less idiots in them, but every day there are more and more of them as the number of people who reach the expert increase. I think (hope) once GTA4 comes out next week, most of the dumbasses will leave and only the enthusiasts will be left.

Hard and expert races with few participants tend to be cleaner.

All races at suzuka tend to be clean'ish, in that most of those punters out to ram people get dropped by the pack in the first few corners and you rarely need to worry about them. Plus there are no walls to ride and plenty of kitty litter to keep the punters well off and behind the people actually trying to race.

Hey Slice, I raced with you and Ocean a couple of times at Daytona Road. They were my first couple of runs and I was trying to sort the setups on the F430(unsuccessfully). I got a good look at both of your bumpers, at least for the first 2 turns:)

I was running these events in the hope that they would be cleaner. Turned out to be somewhat true. I still got punted 2 or 3 times.

Comparing the Beg. Sports Car Class to the Super Sport, the Sports Car class on the High Speed Ring is cleaner racing.

I'm working on my A Class License so I can bump up to Intermediate.

I beg to differ. I find there are still lots of dirty racers at Suzuka (as I always race on Suzuka) and are often running at the back and the front of the field. Many are well practiced drivers and some are well practiced at ramming and have no respect for other drivers, hence why they are in the lead.

I have to agree - Suzuka brings out the worst in a lot of drivers, particularly the last corner in the esses.
I was punted by one guy on four consecutive races at this one spot.

Also, HSR can be a shambles, but the pp600 is not too bad.

Going from suzuka to fuji 700pp. I can guarantee you that suzuka is the better choice of the two. Or you can just let everyone make a mess of their first corner at fuji then get on with your race.

The vast majority of clean races i have had have been at the 700 PP Daytona Road Course event. Although, this must be an unpopular race, since only about 6 or 7 other cars enter the races i have had there, but then again, that probalby helps make it a clean and fun race.

yeah, im a bit dissapointed with the online bumper cars action, especially when I get into a race using pro physics... im still getting used to driving with them, its hard enough to stay on the track without being slammed into walls by other players. It seems to be guys using controllers who pull this kinda crap more often it seems. I can usually tell they are using a controller (as opposed to a wheel) cos it looks like their car is trying to break dance :dopey:

I've found the best way to deal with them is to hang back a lil bit and let them crash themselves out, which they usually do sooner or later. Just try not to get caught up in the wreck. Also, avoid revenge cos it prob wont work out like you hope and will only incite more of this lame behavior :sly:

What might actually be worse are the ppl who race well, but then pull dick maneuvers when your about to pass them. Blocking or some rubbing is one thing, but purposely putting you in the wall, or slamming on the breaks when someone is about to slingshot you is very un-sportsman like and kind of depressing.

I had a great 1 on 1 race at suzuka yesterday with some guy, I was within a second or 2 of him the whole race, on the last lap I managed to get past him on that last long turn going into the straight... guy quit as soon as he knew he couldnt catch back... made me loose a lot of respect for him.

Oh well, I could complain all day I suppose, but I've been having a lot of fun despite all this. If you got time to play and you find a good group, try to stick with them, lots of fun to be had.

I've had a lot of great clean races at the Intermediate HSR Reverse.

But in most races it's all about getting up the front fast and staying there, as the jerks usually can't keep up.

I don't get why people do that! Don't they know they will only get $5000 less for second? Why throw away 6 or 7 minutes of racing and $45,000? Makes no sense to me.

Cool, always nice to see people on here who I've raced against! You should add GTP infront of your tag so it's easy to tell! ;)

Susuka 700 points, with a 680 points car. You start in front, loads of people messes up the first corner anyway. Then the race begins.

Daytona Road and Suzuka 700PP. Although you're not guaranteed a clean race. If you start ahead of the pack and drive consistently though, you could pull away from the idiots.

Suzuka 700pp has been good for me. I'll have to try Daytona Road Course 700pp tonight.

Like someone else mentioned, the more technical courses with large runoffs are better. I put my car in the gravel a few times last night at Suzuka and I will sit there and wait for everyone to go by before I pull back out. If someone has a clean run on me I may try one blocking move but no more than that (it is racing after all). Usually I just watch the mirrors and let people pass and then catch their draft. Most times when I catch up and try to pass, the same guy I just let go by tries to put me in the wall.

Look for me out there. GTP_Viking I'm almost always in a black car.

After toiling for hours finally getting the F2007, I've left it in the garage and am properly enjoying the game now! I buy a car, get a couple of hundred thousand online then repeat with a new car. I'm finding the 600pp Fuji to have the best racers, clean and fast.

on a side note, I haven't bothered to get it yet but I asume, when you go to the dashboard view of the Clio V6/tuned, there's a small message saying 'don't forget to wear your seatbealt and drive like you're at the fairground'.

I'm finding that cleanest track is daytona road profissional, at least in 700pp :)

Yeah the Daytona Road course is idiot free because that first corner usually takes out any crappy drivers, or the last two corners before you get out onto the oval.

I have only raced daytona and it' still a bumper car track. Especially the turn immediately before the finish, because if you take the proper line then you're really close to the grass, and therefore somebody will bump you into the grass.

Actually, I just raced there with the NSX-R, started in 12th place and came in first. It was the first time I raced with the NSX-R and the the first time I won first place :)

That sounds like a good advice 👍
Do it a lot myself. Other than that, you want a clean race with some of the best drivers? Go play Japanese GT5p :)
I had just right now 25-30 races in a row at suzuka 700pp with a bunch of very clean and also very skilled drivers. I managed to win once or twice (yay!) and i got only one disconnect throughout all those races.
Japan players are the most enthusiastic at the moment for sure!
👍

PS By the way the JPN races are actually worldwide, and an almost lagfree pleasure :sly:
