Going on Suzuka PP600 now to test how I am with the Clio online as I have been testing it on and off today in free run, tricky little car to drive and set up .. Time to take some laps online anyway and if I am a little bit all over the place! then my apologies in advance .. I will try to control it! .. so any contact is unintentional :)

What the hell! ... I jump online with the Clio to test it and I have taken more hits than ever in hardly any attempts? what a crock .. this thing has a bullseye on it for sure 👎
I just lost my rag and rammed one of the tossers back and left, it's also a lot harder to control the car after I get rammed than it is to control the Evo :grumpy:

:( you seemed pretty fast in that clio

Speaking of the Clio, I need a tuner to help me out with it... I find it pretty undrivable, and although I can keep up with most of the Clios in my Subaru, there are a few people who just vanished off into the distance in that thing, like GTP_Timppaq for example  :p

Is it wrong/impolite to ask someone for their set-up, and can you expect a "No chance, buddy!" if you do? I have tuned the Impreza so it works well, but it works well already (as does the Audi R8), but I'll be darned if I can get that Clio to go really quick - and the NSX as well... what's the secret ingredient? Toe? Camber? Tom Servo's magic pixie dust? I've tried almost everything. I even shaved incase that made a difference, but no :indiff:

Course he is, from what I hear Ron is a GT legend (not to be confused with the game GT Legends :D).

Anyway I am off to suzuka 600PP my good old clio, see you on the track!

I am annoyed -.-, one time I get a decent racer to race against my clio rejects me, sorry.

I've tried all sorts with the Clio but the back end always slips out but do find it slightly better to drive with the steering wheel with the inside view

Who me?

I thought I spotted you but when I looked at the end of the race you had gone I thought you had been punted off and quit. I haven't seen much in terms of competition tonight on the 600PP races either, with exception to a NSX-R which seemed rapid, i never really caught up to it, I starting from last place but i didn't seem to catching much even with the boost.

I was hoping to come across Mr P so he could demonstrate how racing should be done, always learn from the best. Plus getting beaten would no doubt put me back in my place, as I have been very lucky recently with my flukey race results and I don't want to let it get to my head. :D

Anyway im off for tonight got exams tommorow and I should have been doing revision AS-Levels suck. :sly:

I have been running the Clio with stock settings (with expception to the obvious R3 tyres, full weight reduction and using whatever PP points you have left to slap on additional horsepower.) Other than making it 600PP I have run it with standard brake bias, ABS settings, suspension settings etc.

While it can be a little tail happy, I don't find it too difficult to control it. It may just be that the car doesn't particularly suit your driving style. I used the Subaru at first and found a similar thing I could generally beat most Clio's but there where some which just seemingly couldn't seem to be caught. So I decided to jump on the band wagon last friday and since then I have found the Clio to be an excellent little car. I am now in a similar boat as to the NSX-R though they seem extremely fast in the right hands, faster than the Clio, but I just can't drive it quickly at all. I haven't given it much practice nor have I tried to give it a decent setup but it just doesn't feel right which I guess is to do with the NSX doesn't suit my driving style.

Anyway I decided tonight that I am going to have a go at making a setup for the Clio, and if I make a decent one I will be sure to let you know it

Thanks for the comments Steve but its a different ballpark now mate ;) I get my ass handed to me many times on GT5P .... cheers anyway bud

The last 5 races I have entered have been against rammers and it's getting too much now .. gonna have a break and watch a movie and try later when all the children should be safely locked away in a room with a straight jacket :p

Laters

Anyone fancy some Suzuka 500? I need to test this Swift thingy out and have no one to play with. ;)

By the way, what is the fastest car for Suzzie 500?

Oh I just done the most embarrassing move ever :O ... was in a great race with Honeycar and slowed down to let him take the win! ..... at the end of lap 2 :dopey: and the race was still going lol so I had to play catch up in 3rd place for the remaining lap :dopey:

What a fool I am, I know I shouldn't have had those holstens haha ;)

Cheers Honeycar that was a cool race until I lost my marbles :p

I bet it was one of those "I hope no one noticed" moments. ;)

TY for the compliment! 👍

I don´t know how much this is directed to me , but if you want I can happily PM my setups for you (don´t guarantee it´s any good, though ). I won´t do it in public, as I haven´t put so much time into it... I think there´s still a lot room for improvement, and I´m not intending to turn into a tuning -garage, lol... :scared: ...not feeling so lucky...

For me, asking for someone´s setups would feel a bit like giving up, but that is just MY personal feeling, of course. I Don´t mean that using other people´s settings would be a bad thing. I learned a lot during the Tuners Showdown, while testing both great tunes for the little beast (thanks again, mates)!

p.s. PM me if you wish! 👍

Thanks for the kind offer, but I reckon you are right... It is not a "bit like" giving up, it is giving up! Steve's reply earlier was a surprise to me, that he's running the Clio stock (bar the obvious changes required for 600PP). That has satisfied my curiosity that I wasn't missing something obvious tuning-wise. I think he's got it right by saying that "It may just be that the car doesn't particularly suit your driving style."... (On a side note, it seems that the Clio (and maybe the NSX too) are more suited to people who enjoy less grip. I've always preferred cars that handle as if they are on rails. Lewis Hamilton I ain't...)

Although I would be fascinated to see/test your set-up, after some thought, I don't think it will do me any good in the long run! Indeed, it would most likely just confirm the obvious... that it isn't the set-up that's the problem, it's the driver! On a more philosophical note, I'm glad that the cars in my garage are "mine", i.e. I won the money to buy them, I picked the colour of each car, and (so far) all the tuning tweaks are my own, so maybe it's better if I kept it that way, for better or for worse!

Still, I'll try playing a bit more with the Clio and see how I get on. I have my Subaru ghost in Free Run mode to test against, but something tells me that it might be a while until I am using a Clio ghost!

gah, idiot frenchman in the GT. I went off at the hairpin, then at the next corner he went off and decided to block me as I went past at high speed.....giving you two a 30 second lead. :ouch:

I should have followed you past that skyline at the first lap of the esses.. i got punted so badly and so many times that race :(
