Anyone like my drifting on lap 2 of the Suzy race we just had then??? lol i had my victory lap a lap early. I don't believe i'll ever take a dumb (and overconfident) risk like that again anytime soon.

Good race though. Plenty of GTP members in on the act.

anyway off topic and just noticed the bottom of your sig. How do you rate the K Sport 8 pot brakes and are you running 356mm discs. Thinking off these on mine or willwoods.

yeah its with the 356 discs i think they are awesome but others arent too keen and prefer to go with the more established names (like ap and brembo).Only issue is pads,the car has a habit of eating through them on the 7 (no issues on the 2 evo 5's though with have 8-pot ksports with 356's too).Managed to thrash a set of bluestuff pads in 3 sessions.

Put some brake ducting on the car and a set of carbon metallic pads and its away to oulton park this weekend to get tested.Hopefully they will be up for the job!
 
appologies to timmpaq, I appear to have no control over my clio, esspecially under braking.

can't remember if you hit me, but the lag was just to bad to race cleanly, so no worries there.

Spring rate is also key, a high number in the front (not to high or you'll damage cornering) and lower in the rear so the weight shifts onto the rear as you said.

Alright, thanks for your insight, i guess i overempasized the 'understeer/launch connection', i don't think you meant it the way i read it, sorry for the confusion, i guess you just meant 'i got the oversteer where i want it AND i get great launches'

That became clear when you stated what i quoted, as that is in most cases would improve launching, but it would introduce more oversteer at the same time.(like you said).

Sjaak you deserved the win there in that race. I was far slower than you only for you had that off with the other Evo thats why I let you have the win. What did you think of my defence through Cassio, was it too much or am I aloud that one move to the inside line and staying there?
 
sorry about that shunt sjaak, I locked up my evo i tried to swerve of the track to avoid a crash but caught your evo.
 
Sorry if "I" bumped anyone tonight... I was havin 2 friends over and we had hotseat over here... :) But I guess we did ok.... (I wonder if anyone believes me :lol:)

Anyone racing anywhere... Suz 600 maybe?

Well there are a lot of members racing suzuka 600. Can't really give you a time though.

I'm gonna stop for this evening. Had some great races with Dragonistic again. Also saw sjaak, Gnobody, stevisiov and probably some other guys I can't remember.

I am really stuggling to find a car that suits my driving style, no car yet can i drive particularly well. I am blaming the tyres of course ;)

Yea, theyre fun, fast and great for a dogfight as i've been proving with JohnnyD tonight. Our battles were truly epic, multiple races we were together all 3 laps never more then 0.5 apart.
Thats why tire restrictions are a godsend, you couldn't have the same sort of battle on R3s as once a car let go, it usually went. S2s allow multiple lines styles and car behaviour is more predictable.
I'm having a short break now, it's getting really heated out there tonight.

I disagree, I had some excellent battles with Rudi_Raser before the tyres changed neither of us could break the rubber band and drafting unless we started in very different starting positions.

Fast forward to now and I find rubber banding has less of an effect (a good thing) but I can't find a car that suits me, the clio is still a good bet and the 430 is good in the right hands its just taking me a while to adjust, which to be hosnest is my own fault I need to build some versatility into my driving.
 
There are a lot of GTP Racers out there tonight but........

.......by god so are the numpty's playing demolition derby. I am getting a bit sick of being knocked of the track or used as a brake. I have not completed a race yet where I can say it has been fair or descent :grumpy:
 
Had a wonderful race with Nivola_TeamGT(IT) and some other same team member... They were driving RA Subarus, but had a bit luck and managed 1st with F430! What a great battle!!!
 
Had some good races in the Audi R8 tonight, but I am officially calling out Gatzotira [IT] for being a useless waste of space. I've raced him several times and he has consistently blocked me, hogged the racing line despite being horribly slow, and has just punted me harder at Casio than anyone ever has before, and that really is saying something...

Can't wait to get home :grumpy:... Monday night my friends... Monday night...
 
With a proper gear setup my 350z/tuned maybe would be faster when accelerating.
Now when i manage to find room to overtake someone he'll just slipstream me and i have to do everything in my power in the next turn to avoid his slower car again :(
