It's probably a dumb question...but sometimes I have a good race or two against someone...and I go to message him/her afterwards...and he/she is not listed in Players Met.
How come?

I'm not sure, but I have the same problem.:indiff: It seems to only remember one player from each race, sometimes even none.

This is another example of a poorly sorted portion of this game. I have gotten no additions to my met-list in races where more than 10 opponents were not friendslisters. Also, on occasion, my met-list will have the guy who dumped between the grid list and the start. Any other game I've played (few, admittedly) seems to add anyone in the match.

I have been trying to figure out who it selects and why, it seems to favour selecting the host, however it isn't always the host that gets picked and sometime it doesn't add anyone. It does seem to be poorly implemented at the moment, hopefully it will add everyone in the race to the Players Met list in Gran Turismo 5.

From my experience I noticed that it chooses the person youre racing with or close to for a certain amount of time.... If you havent been close to anyone during the race, no one will show up to the list. If you have been going head to head with someone for a couple of laps they will most likely show up. Atleast I THINK this is one of the factors... Just something I noticed over time.

Unless that someone is someone you want to send a nasty profanity laced letter politely worded suggestion to drive cleanly. Then invariably, they are not on your list.

Nope. I raced 2 races in a row against the same 2 people. The one that it put in my Players Met was the one that we left in the dust. And we raced closesly both races, swapping the lead.

Heck, sometimes there's only 2 people racing and the opponent is not added to the Players Met list.

Oh well, it is what it is.

OK then I dont know what it is either :) Oh well.... hopefully the full version will resolve this! 👍

No, that is not true at all Blitz sorry, :sly: if you take at look at your players met list as soon as joining or creating race comes up you will find the person already listed, even sometimes when it fails to connect. It's a good way of knowing at least one person who will be in your race before the race even starts, sometimes though the person listed doesn't even make it to the grid though.

Ash32 is correct, usually person next to you on grid listing, not actually starting position. Way to pay attention ASH(ley?) LOL

Usually the only people that don't show up for me are people I want to thank for a good race... kinda sucks. Now I try to remember their name so I can send a message anyways

J - there's no way I could remember some of the handles people have. Some of 'em I can't even read (not a HD projection TV).

Write the name of the person down from the grid screen before the race(Asuming you have already raced this person and are back in the same race.) there is a 99% chance of players met fail when you want to find that "one" person but there not there.

I just remember the name of a good racer and add him manually. Ofcourse, it should happen on its own. Sometimes I get a message from the person I want to add but is not in my list. So if you have a player in your 'players met', you're not automatically added to their list. Bit of a lazy system :)

Yea and its always a complicated name i cant remember, luckily my name is easy and they usually message me back.

The funny thing about this, is that if there's any name that shows on "Players Met" on my case, it's the people I traded paint with the most. For Example: If I was racing people A,B,C and D, and me and A had a couple of light touches, he would show up on my "Players Met". It's a funny thing actually...

Mine doesn't do that with regularity. Seems totally random. As you describe it would be an improvement.

I just got bashed at Fuji FWD, was not on met list after race. The driver that made my list was the gut about 20 seconds per lap off the pace.

Ah well...
