Hello
I play GT5 online and have noticed some issues that are still ongoing.
GT5 may be aware of these already and working on a solution.

1. The formation grid at the start of a race. --- This can end up in any order, different to the order set.
i.e. Position 3 / 8 yet you may be first or last.
or you are not in grid order as requested -- Reverse Grid order from Previous Race

2. Pit Stops --- There is a big discrepancy between cars pitting.
This depends on
a) How many in race
b) Where your pit box is in pit lane
c) Length of pit lane
d) Length of lap
I have noticed that the differences in pit times is influenced by your pit box location.
i.e. which side of Start / Finish line.
The game appears to make a compensation for cars further away from pit exit, after pit crew have done their work.
When cars enter pit lane -- no problem -- only after tyre change / fuel has been completed.
Difference in times varies from track to track and cars in race.
This can result in very large variables -- 10 - 15 seconds between cars per stop.

I have saved some races and extracted data to an excel spreadsheet.
Probably you will understand me better when you can observe some online racing pitstops.

If you know about this already, apologies for raising issue again.
Hope this helps

Regards

There's actually no discrepancies between pit stops if you know how to enter the pits properly. Also, anything over 15L of fuel added will lengthen pit times.

More info please 👍

Depending on the pit entry on some tracks, if you go to fast or don't enter on the right portion of the track, the game will enforce a penalty on you. This is either by throwing your car back to the entrance of pit lane (this happens on unsafe entries) or by holding you in the pits for a certain amount of time if you enter too quickly.

I'm not sure if there is a baseline value for how speeding penalties are carried out.

Daytona is a good place where both examples can happen. If you are too far left upon entering, the game will either throw you back to the pit entrance if you were also too fast entering, or it will force a drive-through and you'd have to pit on the next lap.

Tracks with shorter pitlane entrances tend to force you back to the entrance, whereas longer pitlanes just enforce a time penalty upon pitting.

Interesting.. I am yet to see this happen, and I always enter the pits as fast as possible

Thanks for the info 👍

Thank you GTPorsche.
I bow to your greater knowledge on entering pit lanes.

I have no wish to disagree with anyone.
My observations are concerning the total pit times.
I will post some excel data asap for all to view.
Regards

Sorry data will not transfer in to columns.
I have noticed the gaps have closed between the data
I do not have a solution to posting the data at this at the moment
