Speaking of interesting covers of 90's classics. This cover of Alice in Chains "Rain When I Die" is pretty special. Soft acoustic R&B cover from City and Colour (Guitarist/Vocalist of Alexisonfire). Great audio mix as well.
My uncle L.S. died today, he was 56 and had Stage 4 Prostate cancer. He battled it for 5 years and couldn't handle it anymore, so I dedicate this song to him. His favorite band.
I owned so many Joan Armatrading albums in the ‘80s, but it’s been a few decades since I’ve listened to her. I was giving The Key a re-listen and had totally forgotten that Adrian Belew had contributed a guitar solo to the opening track “(I Love it When You) Call Me Names”. Bruce Woolley was a co-founder of The Buggles with Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn. He co-wrote the song with them, but left the band while they were recording their first album. Woolley and the Buggles released their albums at about the same time. Woolley’s version features Thomas Dolby on keyboards.
