Until you can't ban driving aids? It's an option... why would he set it up so you can't ban driving aids?

I am not quite as harsh about it as that other guy but the reason a lot of people like things like TCS turned off is that while it doens't make your car faster, it gives you an infair advantage in a contact situation In a tight corner when people make contact a TCS car is like a tank and blows through the competition.

Ultimately outside of ABS all the steering aids tend to make you slower so the most of the good drivers choose to have them off. A driver that prefers to have them on is often a sign that they aren't so good and thus are more likely to be making contact (due to poor driving skills) and when that contact does happen they also get an advantage as a result.

So basically people avoid driving aids because I don't want to have to turn something on that slows me down just to not be at a disadvantage when you ultimately hit me.

SRF just makes the game ridiculous and ruins the experience for a lot of us so that's kind of an aside.

If you like driving aids, set up a room that allows them and hopefully others like you will join... unfortunately it will probably be a rather crash happy affair (maybe not unfortunately if you don't mind that).

Once you improve you can step up to the no driving aids rooms.

Just consider it a ranking system of sorts which keeps people from being matched with people who will make the event unenjoyable. Think of it like an extensio of the "Race for fun" vs "Race for real" filter except this filter actually has some teeth.

I am very respectable racer, if I'm in a clean room and I accidentaly put someone into a wall or spin them, I wait for them and let them pass me.

As for setting up a room, when I have set up a room, I keep getting people calling me a noob for using them after seeing that I do use them.

He won't let you ban ABS. Now after finally being forced to use a controller with my wheel in for repair, I can honestly say that ABS is not necessary at all. Might make you faster but it's perfectly simple to drive without it. The throttle is much worse because of all the times you need 60 or 75 or 90 percent power and you can't get it, there's only about 1mm between 50% and full power. The brakes are fine, just turn them up and never use more than 60% or 10% while turning.

Yeah, off topic.... Just felt the need.

Yeah, all those ******* who ban driving aids are everywhere.

Well, thats not gonna be a problem any more because I am done online until Kaz makes it so you can't ban driving aids online.

Don't be such a baby! LOL

I only race in rooms without driving aids because it's WAY more of a challenge and I have a wheel and pedals. If you don't like no driving aids, go to a different room. ''Banning'' no driving aids would wreck GT, don't be so selfish thinking of only yourself.

I am not being selfish, I am just speaking out on behalf of all who are in a similar predicament then me. I also don't care if it wrecks the game, it's not like I'm asking to force driving aids on, I just want it so driving aids can't be banned.

That's the definition of a selfish baby attitude. I'm happy someone like you is ''done online'' as you put it.

People have the option to join rooms with or without driving aids allowed. What's the problem? If you need aids, you don't belong in rooms that have no aids allowed. Simple as that.

My only gripe about aids online is TCS. Only for the fact that is somewhat difficult to modulate the throttle on the DS3. Its possible, but I like to set TCS at 1 just to help a bit.

OP, my remedy is to make it known before you even enter the race. I always say this, if an opponent is faster than you, move out of the way. Don't hold people back because you want to defend a position that you rightfully can't even hold. I run the race just fine and if someone is faster I just move out of the way, but if I'm faster I run right up and try to pass where I can or I pressure them into a mistake but if they block I can usually trick them into something dumb. But I usually come up with something to make the pass cleanly as possible, making drivers late brake then taking the inside while they are forced to change their line.

I don't like it when hosts decide to block assist that are useful, TCS and ABS should be at your own choosing. SRF should always be off unless you like that sort of arcade magic, but most of the others should remain optional unless the entire room agrees. My biggest gripe is when people decide to have unrestricted tire limitations, to me that makes very little sense especially considering Spec 2.0 updated how tires grip and react to road surface. Sport softs are the most fun tires to drive on even into the 650PP range, only certain cars have serious problems with traction the Speed 12 and S7. I just like the smoothness of grip to slip transition on Sport tires, physics engine really shows on those tires and it's less ham fisted driving than on Racing tires.
