Online Racing - Chill Out

I've had only a few online races but for the most part they've been clear. The first was with some guys from this forum so genuine GT players and another time was in room with aide restrictions and HP cap, that was also pretty good fun. Did get bumped once on the 'ring in open lobby but I think the prat who hit me (didn't brake) come off a lot worse and ended in the gravel trap!

I would love to have a race with just me and a group of guys from here, all on Nurburgring, all with stock GT-R's ('07), race medium tires. No other modifications.

5 laps at least. That would be awesome. I keep trying to find something like that online but it's just a slamming, pitting, cheating hack-fest.

Agreed. I don't know much about the whole online thing yet but can you start a lobby and just invite certain people?

If so that would be pretty cool

This is one reason why I don't race online. I am a single player kind of guy. But when I do go on, its very sparingly. The problem with going online with GT5 is that the game is still fairly new and you have all these newcomers that are trying to see what all the game can do. Whether its actually dirty racing to win or just checking out the damage system. Wait several months once things die down and you will start seeing cleaner racers more than likely.

AGREED!!!
NASCAR 2009 didn't get really good till about a year ago. All the noobs were playing something else by that point and all that was left were the hardcore guys. Hoping it happens soon here. As. Much as I love online racing, its for the birds at this point in time.

Just started GT5 after long abstinence of racing sims.
Former online racing in EA F1 series mods, GTR, GTRII and mods, GPlegends, NetKar, etc…

I love the new detail of GT5 cockpits (finally without HUD), tracks (Tsukuba, LeMans and Nordschleife especially) and physics.
I would hate, that this potential for great competitive online racing would be wasted.
