Online racing room join

How can I join the rooms my friends are racing in ? Is that possible or not ? People always ask me to join room but I don't know how I do that lol

If you go to community, select your friend and look at the lounge button, you'll see a little orange circle with a figure in it. Click it and you can join said friends game...

I remember back in February when I first got the game. A friend and I were texting back and forth trying to join each other's lobby. LOL good times. Finally I asked at the Sony forums because we could not figure it out lololol.
