Online Tab in garage?

Searched the threads and couldn't find anything on this. What's the function of this tab?

I'm not sure why it's there. I always figured It was an error while PD made the game before or way before the release or something...

that tab shows the cars you have set to online mode. if a car is set to online mode people on your friends list can just see the vehicle. you can't use online cars for online racing, and i dont even think you can use them in b/a spec. you must switch it off online mode.

its just a way of showing off your prized cars that you don't use often i guess? you can also set your BOB to online as well to share his stats with your friends.

PD might make use of this function as a share type thing, but as of now its just a way of showing off.

someone please correct me if my understanding is flawed on this subject

That would explain why my tab is empty. I'm familiar with the online sharing you describe, just haven't felt the need to implement it.

I read that PD were going to implement a feature where your friends could use your Online cars themselves, and your Bobs too (I distinctly remember reading something about 'your Bob (not their exact words) can be used by your friends and accumulate XP while you're not using them'.

Not really that hard to see why this feature didn't get fully implemented, otherwise everyone could just share cars and never need to buy any, and enter high level Bobs in low level races and not have to spend so much (probably) on modding cars. Or just put a borrowed Bob in a borrowed car...
