Online Time Trial... sort of

I like time trialing and I was wondering is there a way to see a global leaderboard in a normal time trial mode.

I know there is such a thing as online time trial, where they pick a track and car and people set their own times for a few days and see their times on a global leaderboard, but I was wondering if there is a way to see leaderboards like this for normal time trial mode.

In a normal time trial mode I can only see my own times, is there a way to compare them to a wider pool of drivers?

As lovely as this fantasy would be, the issue is that the Online Time Trial has fixed settings (99% of the time). In Time Trial Mode, anyone can run any number of different permutations of spec sheets for their vehicles, not limited to the tyre choice as is displayed on the leaderboard.

It would be meaningless in a competitive sense.

NB: in this Spec III era of the Data Logger/public settings there may be a future for this idea!

Yes, I agree and appreciate it would be difficult to do. One way to make sure everyone drives the same car is to force using stock cars on stock tyres during TT. Make it prerequisite in order for the time to land on the global leaderboard (like they do in online time trial). It would be fun as it would unlock pretty much unlimited amount of combinations and allow people to really test themselves. Too bad there is no way to do that at the moment other than take part in online time trial where we are forced to use cars and tracks chosen for us and the leaderboard is gone after a certain amount of time never to return again.

If you join the TT thread all your results can be dug up and presented with your best finish, number of golds, silvers, etc

This thread presents the results of GT7 Time Trials (Lap Time Challenges), along with community scoreboards. I used to post the results every week in the main thread set up by @seadog777, but as interest and participation have grown, so has the desire for people to look back at previous results.

I think with the data logger feature sensationally revealing setups, along with the PP and tyre choice displayed as usual, this idea of a 'global time trial leaderboard' isn't too far away from reality.

They'll never do it, but at least the foundations are there now.
