I think those two are a little unnecessary. The cache is to do with temp data stored on the HD. Data rates and packets during racing are not effected by this.
Other tips are good though.
Needless to say, even on the highest setting online, a car will not roll. Proof that the physics are simplified online to reduce network load.
First, I think the car not rolling is mainly a graphical difference. If you ever go into photo mode (in aspec for example) when a car is tipped upside down - it will never let you walk around it. It only gives you camera angles. To me this indicates there's something not so much with the physics involved, as a graphic limitation. IE: the
graphics are simplified. Whether that translates to
physics being simplified... that might be true, but I'm not sure it would explain anything better that the other explanations I mentioned don't already explain anyway. So that's definitely an unknown. I won't say you're wrong, because I don't know - you have a good point. But I do think the other things are enough to explain at least
most of the difference anyway.
Maybe those 2 things you pointed out
are unnecessary, but I have heard people claiming they help. My experience with not clearing the cache did SEEM to match what others were claiming. But I can't say that I've done any experiments with that. I just started clearing the cache more, and it seemed to be a positive thing.
The rest of my recommendation tips... Many might think would be common sense. But I found out not.
There's tons of people hooking their PS3 to online and have NO clue how internet connection works.
That wireless, for example, might be less reliable - many assume it's better for some reason!
There's many people it doesn't occur to them that someone else using the internet on a computer at the same time might effect anything. (Many don't understand that data has a size. You can use computers & internet and never have to know this.)
And I have a feeling that many never check the wall jack for years & years.
But I maintain the
largest difference people experience & notice between aspec & online racing is simply the track grip set to real difference. In aspec, it's like it's set to "low" setting. Almost nobody sets it to low in online races. Almost everyone uses "real".
