I don't see where this would fit into the GM lineup in the US, so I doubt it'll be here. Buick isn't exactly known for it's sportiness credentials (GNX aside) and Saturn is on it's way out pretty quickly (Plus I don't think GM would make the Aura the same as a Buick) and I see no reason for GM to slap a different badge and grille on and sell it under another brand just to sell the thing here.

I spotted a new Insignia on the road the other day. I nearly didn't see it - the sheer level of bland is staggering. My brain prodded me to look back again, to be met with "Oh. It's a new Insignia".

It's a shame. Vauxhall have managed to sew up the distinctively ugly family saloon sector pretty well with the Vectras over the years and this new one is just grey tarmac. I imagine the colours they'll sell it in won't help matters - black, almost black blue, almost black green, almost black brown, dark grey and same-as-everyone-else-white.

Part of me wonders if they've managed to change the other Vectra trademarks - woeful engines, vague steering and the national understeer debt of Turkmenistan. Most of me is yawning too much to care.

I did too. First one I've seen, actually, and it bored me to death. They just haven't tried, have they? Never before have I seen a car where 18 inch rims have bored me. But look at them!

Might as well have used 4 pie dishes... And those are on the SRi, which is usually at least lukewarm in terms of looks.

In a way, I think they've been rather clever. Let's be honest, nobody is going to buy one - they're all going to be company cars. It's the same with Astras - it's either thrusted upon you by your workplace or you woefully accept it as a hire car. So, they don't need to be interesting. They just need to sort of... work. That and look expensive, which they do - but only because they are expensive. The lump above with some leather and a 2 litre Petrol costs near-as £22,000. If you're spending £22,000 on a dull car, you might as well buy a Lexus IS250 and be bored to death in comfort instead.
