You know it's not the only mouse that can do ingame DPI changes right? The MX518 is a lot better for gaming. The G5 is more of a casual mouse.
I don't know what sort of mouse you had that made the cursor jump...haha.

Oh nah, he didn't make an unintelligent move. The MX518 is a lot better than the G5 for him, and I agree. There's really no point of the DPI on either mice anyway.

Um.. you guys DO realize that the Optimus keyboard is fake, yes? It doesn't exist. It NEVER existed. It was an exercise by a group of graphic artists to show off their advertising stuff to prospective clients. It's all CGI, and there is no company making such a thing.

Seriously.. go look at the company's website. You'll find that it's not an electronics company at all.. it's a graphic arts company.

That cursor jump screwed me over at least a hundred times in BF2. Now, I'm using a mx518 and it works great.

^:indiff: I don't like the shape that much and on the G5 and G7 too

Even if that keyboard is just a concept still it's still do able... at least more than the Infared Projection Keyboard. Someone actually had it in a t.v. show I can't remember, CSI or something.

Oh, I know its not, it's just the best gaming mouse you can get. It is no casual mouse. Casual mice are not priced at $50 and do not carry 2000 DPI performance. The normal DPI is about 700 for a fair mouse, 2000 is almost 3 times that. And some optical mice make the cursor randomly shoot to the bottom or top of the screen when you move the cursor.

The MX518 isn't as good as the G5. It is a nice mouse, but doesn't compare to the G5. The MX 518 is optical. Optical is very, very good, but the G5 is completely laser operated.

So then, that is why in this interview, the designers said that they are "in the process of negotiations with several technology providers and manufacturers.".

And the mini one is ready (and this page has a photo of it down the bottom), although it is not comming out till may 15th.

Design is developed with the participation of Artemiy Lebedev's studio

If they do pull it off and it's actually under $200 that's a friggin deal to me. 👍

It's so much more than just a keyboard. This is pretty much Industrial Design at work all the way.

The concept is wonderful!

Its the way of the future for sure!

The "graphic artists", you mean.

In the end, it's not up to them. It's up to whatever company might decide to make the thing, and then it's up to that company as to whether to use their design or simply make one of their own. There's nothing that says that an OLED keyboard must be based on that exact design.

My point is that there's no sense getting hyped up about it as if it were right around the corner.. it ain't. What you see there is CGI, period. As of this moment, there is no such thing.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a fantastic idea, and I'd probably be first in line to buy one.. but it ain't happening any time soon.

He made a very unintelligent move then.

This mouse doesn't randomly make the cursor jump to the top or bottom of your screen in the middle of a game either, which many optical mice do. It also features side scrolling, the handy, yet removable, weight feature, the extra side buttons and other programmable buttons, and the easy-use left and right click buttons. If you game, you will not find a mouse better than this. The wireless one just can't compare (G7). This mouse combined with that Optimus is guarunteed pure ownage in a game :D.

You do know that the G5 isn't the only amazing gaming mouse out there, heel it isn't even the only amazing gaming 2000 dpi mouse with on the fly dpi adjustment. Here's another one:

Apparently in terms of gaming the copperhead is much, much better.

What is that MoteC stuff?

:odd: I don't see what the point is of the LCD screen either. Coming from Logitech that seems really poorly designed IMO.

Agreed, the K1 is the best gaming keyboard out at the moment IMO. along with the wolfclaw (pic below).

Also agreed, but the new M1 & 2 review are out with a resolution to 2400dpi but yes the Raptor gaming stuff is serious.

IMO, The Saitek Gaming keyboard is real nice. Combined with a (red) Logitech MX510, it's one of the best keyboard/mouse combonation. At lease I think so.

Hmm... that K1 circle part is interesting. While I put up with the current controls I feel like there's gotta be a better way, the circle part of the K1 definitely makes more sense with the current default FPS control set up IMO. It would be more natural anyway. 👍

The k1 is specially desinged for hardcore gaming, all the buttons have gold contact point so the responce from a button press is faster also the buttons have been lowered so that when pressing the keys, they dont travvle downwards for so long thus making the key presses faster. 👍

K1 KB info.

Raptor Gaming Hardware Site
Due to their Cherry Gold Crosspoint contacts and the adjusted coil springs, the buttons of the RAPTOR-GAMING K1 offer a very soft and in particular by 30% shorter stroke than conventional keyboards. This feature maximises the entry speed and reactivity while playing – with minimum fatigue by unmatched velocity and reaction advantages.

The gold contacts extremely low transition resistance of approximately 100 milliohm (buttons with film contact < 200 Ohm) also enables an optimized signal quality, which the computer can process precisely and with utmost speed.

The RAPTOR-GAMING K1 has an extremely high durability. Keyboards are usually designed for 5 to 20 million button operations. The Cherry-Gold-Crosspoint technology of the RAPTOR-GAMING K1 in contrast is laid out for 50 million button operations.

In the delivery content you will find 8 afterglow buttons and all square buttons can be replaced by these. The convenient, non-reflecting light allows for the buttons utmostvisibility – even in darkened rooms. The lighting power lasts for up to 12 hours. The button light can even be charged with an LED torch.

The “Cherry Full-N-Key-Rollover” function enables you to simultaneously press all modifier buttons (i.e. Shift key, Ctrl button, Alt and Windows button) as well as 6 additional shortcut buttons, without loosing or confusing any information (ghost button effect).

In addition, the high-tech electronics integrated in the RAPTOR-GAMING K1 guarantees extremely short button scan times and high debounce safety. These features provide for an extremely fast and reliable enquiry of each individual button entry as well as a precise identification of button operations.

In order to avoid unintended actions, each square button can be equipped with a lock (8 button locks are included). The button locks avoid the unintended action in the personalised keyboard field and delivers in that way another gaming advantage.

The RAPTOR-GAMING K1 includes a USB hub 1.1 for mouse and headset, for easy installation and avoidance of twisted cables.

Technical details:

  • Unmatched velocity and fast reactivity due to Gold Crosspoint contacts

  • Offers up to 30% shorter button strokes than conventional keyboards

I'll take the wolf claw...Because even if the K1 is this "uber gamer board" that can have you hitting "w" 1/1000th of a second quicker than any other board in the world...

it looks like some 1980's green screen mac board i'm gonna go play math munchers or Oregon trail on.

yeah..the last thing I want is to damage a keyboard in the middle of a firefight because "gold sents signals faster, but will dent and lose connection and integrity 6x as fast"

its cool & all, but it seems to be an art-project or student-work.. not an actual item for sale..

A Friend of Mine was going to start a Company this time last year , based on the exact same idea; have each key on the Board represent it's true value on the System.
He was only a Minor Employee in a software firm and he could'nt get funding for the idea, no-one would back him up on the project and they told him to drop it when he flew the idea past his boss, so he left the next week.
His idea was to include a further LED on the Keyboard that would take the Top Strip Lengthwise, this would display the last input $ to the device, which could be turned off if entering passwords + ( and this is a genius feature!) he would include a buffer in the Keyboard that would include some EPROM Software to 'ping' the system keyboard driver, time the route and ascertain if any KEYLOGGING devices had been planted. The LED strip has two functions; one you need'nt be a touch-typist to verify Your typing accuracy as the most recent string is on the Board. Also, it makes you aware of passwords and other sensitive uses of the device.
If anyone on here is an investor, maybe we could revitalize my friends plans as he seemed pretty down last time we chatted.

Yeah, it sucks having an idea but not telling others for fear of someone stealing it. It also sucks having an idea but not being able to do anything about it because of no funding. :grumpy: I'd back him, he's got a great idea. 👍
