The Champ lounge is open, 575pp FR race cars.
 
Just got to put the youngest to bed and i'll be with you. 15 mins or so!
 
Was a blast to be back racing with you all!
The cars used within the 575pp-limit was really close.. some had an advantage on corners, while heavier cars caught back up on the straights.
All in all a couple of even and close races.... except for Marcus... :nervous:

I'm not sure what happened, GT5 just left my mind for about five days. I also think my plans for racing were too widespread and caused me to lose focus. I need to figure out what to do next and also something to keep us busy in the meantime. I'll create a new thread soon so we can start hanging out there instead of popping this one to the top and making people think there's more Silvia racing.
 
How about we plan a big race with the 575pp race cars, maybe for the first weekend of the year, to give us something to do until I figure out our future. We could do some practice races in the weeks leading up to it, then on Saturday, Jan. 5 we could have a big event. Saturday race would allow our UK friends to join, but we could possibly run it a second time on the following Tuesday as well. I'm thinking similar to the Aussie Supercars, we could do a 7-8 lap sprint race followed by a long feature race with reverse grid (maybe 25-30 laps). Set the tire-wear fairly high so a pitstop would be necessary. I would wittle the car selection down to 4 or 5 "approved" cars for people to pick from and we can use the weeks leading up to the event to decide which one fits our driving style best. I'm thinking a real-world track like Nurb GP/F, Motegi full, Suzuka full or maybe even a day-night-day race at la Sarthe if the gearboxes are tall enough.
 
Oh yeah, I could go for some more of that 575pp action. Good stuff.
 
I would definitely be up for that. I have really enjoyed our 575PP races.

Just to let you know, I will not be able to race that specific weekend, no matter how much I would have liked it!
But I am off to Austria to enjoy some skiing in Ischgl :D

So do not make special accommodations on my behalf. Yet hopefully RD and/or others from the Commonwealths will be able to give some fight to the finishline...!

I just picked that date at random. Presuming most of us will be somewhat busy over the next few weeks I wanted to allow plenty of time for testing and practice. If we shoot for the second weekend in January that would give us a little more time to iron out details and for me to get a thread together. That would also allow us to do a Tuesday and a Saturday race in the same week (the first Tuesday in January is New Year's Day, figured there would be some conflicts). So let's pencil in the 8th and the 12th. 👍
 
Enjoy the skiing Mikael and don't break anything.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep the back of the grid warm over the xmas break.
 
I just watched a German Touring Car race and it got me excited to do this event. I think I might see about tweaking the PP just a smidgen so the Vauxhall TC, BMW GTR, Merc TC and Audi TC are all very close and make those the four "approved" cars to choose from, make it a DTM race. They're already very close at 575. I'll be online tomorrow to do some testing, possibly tonight too.
 
The M3 GTR isn't a DTM car, it's a GT2 car.

It still fits in, but I wanted to point that out.

Yeah, it's close enough though. And BMW is back in DTM this year too. Makes a good theme.

Oh yea. Forgot about AWD.

I had a guy call the shop today about some Subaru parts for sale. Not exactly sure what as I won't call back till Monday. However I've got you in mind on this call back. So expect a text Monday about possible parts for your Scooby. ;)

If you're referring to the A4 and TT-R DTM cars, they are both FR's and should fit right in with this group.

If they're both FR and at similar PP then we can probably have both of them. The Merc could be a wild card, we'll have to find a track that doesn't expose its possible disadvantage.
 
I'm going to be in the lounge for a bit messing around.
 
I guess some of the "DTM" cars are too expensive to be traded so I think I may need to allow the RX-7 as an alternate in case someone doesn't have any of the German cars. I'm pretty sure everyone here has the first DLC pack so they should be able to find a car. Hopefully everyone has one of the German cars though.
