Sounds excruciating. Can you imagine doing it every week? In the snow? Uphill both ways.

I'd say it builds character.

What's funny is that I made that post before I got down to milefile's, where he says the suburb is 50 miles away.
 
I heard on the radio today that some gas station in Awatukee is charging almost $5.00 a gallon. They must think people are stupid. Or, there are stupid people who pay that. I'll stay home before I wait in line for four hours to buy gas at $5.00 a gallon. Of course if the area had any alternative to cars, it might not be so bad, but it only has sparse bus service, and you'd wait longer than you would for some gas.

$5.00 a gallon? **** that. If that ever happened here I'd drive to the airport, and throw in some 100 octane low lead for about $2.79 a gallon.

Why? It wouldn't be bad in the T/A. I would never put it in the Lexus, or any of my Dad's cars, though.:nervous:

1 If you're just going to put it in one car, what's the point?
2 If prices of normal fuel went up, would it not be reasonable to assume 100 octane fuel would rise similarly?
3 If #2 happened, what's the point of driving out to the airport to put lower-quality fuel in your car?
 
I went around looking for gas last night. Ever gas station was closed except one, that I saw, and it had lines wrapping around the block. I wasn't able to spend hours in line. On my way to work this morning I saw two gas stations open. Both had lines. At one the lines were so long I'm sure they will run out before everyone in line got gas. The line was at least four blocks long on two streets.

A couple stations tried charging $4.95 a gallon and ended up having to close due to mob actions against them. There was a funny thing on the news where a camera man got his ass kicked by some angry jerk for no reason other than having his camera set up in the filling area. The cops got him. Never hit a guy with access to a helicopter. They'll find you.

I'm going to have to get gas tomorrow, and I don't know where. Co-workers are suggesting going at 3:00 in the morning but there are problems with that, and not only that I don't want to.

The problem is that people are buying more gas than they ordinarily would. Escalades and hummers with half a tank are all going to fill up while Hyundais run out of gas while waiting in line, only to have the place close before they can get gas.

Fuel truck drivers are waiting in line in Tucson longer than they are allowed to drive in a day, so full trucks bound for Phoenix just sit there until another driver can be found.

And it's supposed to go on for another two weeks like this. Fun.
