OK here's the deal.
My mother and I have separate E-mail addresses, and there is another identity for her, however emails that are addressed to her go to my inbox on my identity. It's as if both addresses share one identity, and I want it so that she has her own identity, own inbox, contacts, etc etc etc.

I managed it before, but since getting my new computer I can't remember how to keep them separate. Any assistence would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Do you have your email set to be different from hers?

It might also be easier to just create a seperate user account for you and her. Much simpler.

That's what identities are, separate inboxes for separate accounts. Switching identities is supposed to be like running a completely separate instance of the program, with its own settings.

He's saying that it doesn't separate them as it's supposed to. I can't tell why it's like that. My first inclination was that he didn't actually set up a separate identity, but just added a mail account to the main identity, but he was very clear that he'd set up an identity.

The only advice I can offer is to trash the setup and do it over, making sure each mail account belongs to the correct identity only.

You need a seperate user account for your mum and one for yourself on your PC. Then log onto yourself, open OE, then go to tools, accounts, and click add mail, then set it up with your e-mail information. Then tell your mum to do the same thing on her user account.
