how many PSI is that air at? whats stopping me from just using a heavy duty air compressor?
3000 psi. Most air comressors don't even come close.
Most scupa tanks can give you 3000 psi as that is what they are filled with,
If you play alot of paintball, just practiceing between tournaments or just trying to save money, the scuba approach is the way to go.
It will pay for itself in one or two months of fills for me. After that, it's just heaven from there.
They have manual pump kits to fill your bottles too, but the only thing with them is that they are hard to pump, must be in shape and require as much as 70 pumps to fill one bottle.
72ElCamino, nice marker man, very nice. Have you done any tinkering with it yet??
Sorry about the AIM, I'm not on that much for me to be aimed.
Good luck ElCamino, hope you do well in your tournaments. ;)

I've played that type of thing. Alot cheaper, but alot more annoying. You and a mate might take a stronghold, and when the other team attack they just walk straight up to you as the beams don't hurt them and stand there waiting for themselves to reactivate once you shoot them.
Thats why I prefer paintballing, because no one can BS you by walking all the way up to you while you blast them.
The one i played was different once you were shot your gun was disabled because it was linked by a wire to your vest, to reactivate it u hafta go all the way back to ur "base"

I've played the laser tag game, thought it was fun and hated that you really never knew when you were out by your man or the enemy, at least when I played in Arkansas..
Paintball on the other hand, is the shiznit.
I've traded my drag racing days for paintball and haven't regretted it one bit. I'll continue to dragrace, but paintball is my life right now.
Good luck all.

manual paintball tank fillers or manual scuba tank fillers? My buddy has the scuba tank, just gotta look for a fill station. :) Fills at the local paintball field are like 2 bucks or unlimited fills with admitance so it's not to bad.

Here is the information on the fill station I purchased.
I'm sure there are more to purchase and have seen them from 39.95 to 60 bucks retail.
I already have the scuba tank filled ad awaiting the fill station sometime next week.
Save some money and get your own fill stations.

Where I went you got your gun deactivated, but for between 3 and 10 secs, depending on where you were hit. There was no need to return to base.

hey guys,
just played paintball this past weekend, tons of fun, although there was some snow and ice, hey misnblu, thinking about getting either nitrogen or a new front block for my gun, any suggestions? also for my gun, should i use a high pressure or low pressure tank? just out of curiosity.

Matt

Well, I'd suggest a high pressure tank. Unles you're talking about output pressure, in which case it's a regulator setting on the tank.

Most output pressure for a cocker is in teh range of 800psi. Nowadays, you can use a double reg and get that down to 250psi or so.

All depends on how you want to do it. I found that running in the 250-400 psi range made for a smoother operation of the pnuematics up front.

Am I right in saying you're running a cocker. or similar? OK, edit... I just saw the image above. Very nice.

The wife has been pressuring me to get back into palying. Especially since she totaled up what she's spent on her fish tanks. Needless to say, I could have a nice little paint slinger with that much cash.

Don't go nitrogen, it's too hard to have refilled.
Most places usually will have (on hand) air and co2. Unless you are in a big tournament, that's the only place that might have and use nitrogen.
Get an hpa (high pressure air) tank. Most shops will know by the marker you use which tank to get. You'll spend about $119 for a steel hpa tank or 159 U.S. dollars (starting price) for a fiber tank.
Spend the money on the fiber tank. You will literally get more air out of the bottle than the steel tank and it weighs much less too.
You getting a front block too? I'm picking mine up this week. It's the Shocktech front pneumatics. :D :)
Which are you getting, the WGP ,Shocktech or ANS?
Glad you like playing, it's alot of fun.
We're doing our first tournament in two weeks. It's in Pensacola Fla. and should be alot of fun.
Wish us luck. ;)

thanks der alta,
my friend got grounded from paintball so hes lettin me use his nitrogen next time we play, also what size tank should i use i was thinking about a 45/4500 becasue i wanted one to fit up under my gun. my friend recommended a java tank. Do you have any recommendations for tanks?

Matt

actually i know a guy no more then 10 minutes away that fills co2 and nitrogen, yeah i was looking into replacing my stock front block but didnt know what brand i should use.

My bad about the double post. and yeah i got hpa and nitrogen mixed up.

Well, the Wgp has the best three way (the bomb) and Shocktech has all of the rest of the best components.
It's up to you.
Check out 888paintball for some of the best deals there are.
They have some good prices and have all three front blocks to sell.
You'll spend about 250-300 for the front block.
If you have nitrogen, good. It's not often there is such a source.

As an additional note, I think you may want to check out Palmers Pursuit Auto cocker parts section. Down towards the bottom of the page, you'll find fully built Front Blocks.

You're not currently running HPA on a cocker? That's perhaps the best first uprgade you can make. IT stabilizes your gases and allows you to run higher FPS, becuase you're unlikely to get a spike in velocity.

Good luck,

NitroDuck through Warped Sports.
I have two bottles and use the smaller 68cu. in. 3000psi most of the time. My other bottle is the 72cu.inch 3000psi bottle. It's carbonfiber and got both bottles used from individuals.
Check the clsassifieds of the local paint shop or your local forums for paintball.
You can get some really good deals there or from your local field.
Good luck with it.

Yup, we did it.
We won first place tie in our first ever tournament (Paintball).
We originally started badly with a 2-4 win/ loss and came back from all adversity to get a first place tie with a very good team.
We played 9 teams at this tournament (15 total games for the day) and were eventually divided into two divisions, beginner and rookie.
Since we were beginners in this tourney, we were surprised to have made the grade to Rookie division. We were ecstatic about it too.
We were slow to start, but when it came down to playing our game (which took a few games), we did and kicked butt, to the surprise of all of the other teams there and us.
We tied for first place and since the prize selection didn't account for a tie, we battled it out in a 2 out of three fight for first place prizes.
The team we battled were veterans of tournament and we gave them a good fight. We lost those two in a row but still came out with the first place tie and second place prizes.
It was the most fun I've had in a long time and all of the work, effort and training with the team has made us winners. I got to hand it to my team mates, they made the grade and have bigger and better tournies coming in the next weeks.
So for all of those that miss me on the boards, you can see what I'm doing now.
Just like cars, I love to excel in anything that I do, convey that to others in hopes that it too will rub off in a good way to improve and better them too.
Three more tournaments in the next 5 weeks, each getting harder as we go and wish us luck in that we will continue to improve our game and win (or just place) in the next tournies.
Thought I'd share the joy.

awesome, couple friends of mine were thinking about playing in a indoor tourny but didnt, I have the itch to play paintball again, maybe this weekend or next.

Matt

Thanks 72, get out there and play.
I realize that it's still cold where you are and here in the South, very warm. So we play all year long, just a little less in the summer because of the extreme heat.
Get out there and play. ;)
Misnblu

yeah it actually hit 65 today, i was happy i like warm weather, but soon ill b in georgia so it will be warmer than here, yeah i think we are playing next weekend, cant wait :)
