PAL: Expert event F430 N1 tyres Suzuka, xx.00/20/40

Are you guys setting these laptimes by drifting? Or by minimising the amount of drifting?

All the best
Maz

Minimum drift for me, have enough trouble keeping it on the black stuff as it is. :ouch:

Ha the only drifting I do is into the sand pit

Just took the 430 for a spin in hotlap and achieved a 2'29.107. A '28.xxx is definately in reach for me, which will probably happen later today. I'm sure some of the wheel aliens will dip into the 27's though

Thats fast, my best is a 2.33.xxx, mind you a dont care now, I just won a race with 6 runners in so i'm happy :)

The only good thing I see about this event is that punters will surely be limited in numbers. I doubht they will have the patience to sit in the sand for half the race lol

Those times with zero TC, timeattack?

Well i’m a wheel user but i think i will sink down in this event. I think this is an event for the div 1 drivers and the alien div members. a wheel will help a bit but won’t rescue you

I will give a shot later on when I come home. I’m scared already

Will give the lower div members on Fuji or Daytona a chance to win once 👍

I reckon 650pp DR would also be good fun. Maybe once the novelty of this event dies off, there could be more entertaining overall. As this doesn't offer much in the way of ''racing'' so to speak.

This event is a bit anoying becuase it really favours traction control ON to be consistant in a race, why couldn't PD get rid of this option on this event?

I got a 1.31.7 (using G25), then after using higher gears than normal to reduce wheel spin I got a 2.30.9 with hard concentrating with the backend etc, then I stuck on the traction control and it was immediatley ten times easier, obvious I know but more so with N1 tyres, straight away I was in the 2.29.xx and total time of 12.40.632 without even trying. I will go a lot quicker, but without traction control your really up against the others using it who can push hard with it and you'll end up making a mistake. I hate using traction control, in fact I've never used it, but to race consistant all users will have it on in this this event.

Yepp, i think the same. I did 5 races this midday and got a 2:28.0.. without slipstream or any assists. i see a mid 2:27 for me at the moment but not much more.

see you guys later this evening

Yea Ian, no TC and using the X button for gas...I must be putting in about a 1000 varying throttle inputs per lap just to keep the thing straight lol. I also short shift quite a bit, and ride the higher gear out of most the corners. 👍

Great time! 👍 I really doubht I could hit a 27 with the 6-axis...I think I'd break the controller before that would happen lol

Your x button must feel like porridge by now timeattack...haha!

Just did my best, without HIV+ chasing Fuzzy 2'29.4xx

But picking speed up all the time.

GTro_Ramon is very fast. But he's way too aggressive. Someone said in chat, that they're treating it like a wet race. I think that's very true...With that in mind, suddenly all the grip levels and less contact (ideally) make more sense too.

Free run, 2'27.578. No TC, ASM or Active steering, ABS @ 1, Replay saved. ;)

Edit
, will join @ :40, I will be the one spinning off.

Great time guys! 👍

The 6-axis drivers are going to take a beating in this event. Not only are our hot lap times WAY behind, our consitancy surely can't be nearly as good either. Looks like I may have to go elsewhere :dunce:

Crazy times already! Fair play to those below 2'30 without traction control (or any aids for that matter). I haven't got anywhere near 2'30. I'm using Sixaxis, no aids. Please can some of you guys state what aids you're using (or none) when you mention lap times?

Any tips for me? What's the best way? high gear, pedal to the metal ans hort shifts, or regulated throttle? Drift or as straight as possible?

EDIT: Daytona Road PP650, timeattack (and fellow Sixaxis racers) ? :)

Who said that? Did I hit you?
It's sure I'm not driving Miss Daisy but nobody told me something about I hit him via PSN.
If I notice I hit somebody I wait until he is in front of me.

After trying it now I dont understand why PD picked N1, maybe thinking about drifters? stock tire would have bin better. But I guess it will grow on me ;)

Did a 2.29, no drift.

What makes you think this event is getting you ready for weather change.

^ that would have bin great! :) But i doubt we see weather effects before gt5..

Just had my first 2 races in a field of super fast drivers - first one was a bit sketchy but kept it on track and finished second behind meagainstyou with a 12m 31s. Second race was going well and did a 2:27.8 while leading, then got excited and crashed at turn 1.

This event is great - I'll be back for more soon.

you'll all have to get past me doing 2.37.xxx first haha :nervous:

Some incredible laptimes from some incredible drivers. I'm glad to see you posting times Kai, shows folk just how much of an awesome driver you are 👍 Great to see so many Thunder & Lightning boys out and about too :)

I think I'll take heed of what RPM and Timeattack have said, this seems very sixaxis-unfriendly and avoid this event if Jack, JP and Kevin don't include it in the competitions.

All the best

Why are you being so defensive?

I said aggresive, not offensive. You didn't hit me, no. But watching you steam into T1, overtaking it's what I'd deem aggressive.

Synwraith, it's not that bad. We can compete, I've beaten Ramon and Zocker...When they make mistakes ;)
