actually, it is a replay, with some replay data on... and yes you can do that

I dunno them dials look just like the ones from GT3, but the track is in GT4 as Chamonix, but the replay data is definitely GT3ish. The GT4 dial in replay in the out of car view is two lines, blue for accel, red for brake.

that screenshot is from a beta version that had the GT3 interface

mmmm...the idea of driving the Nordschleife in the winter with a RR Porsche/Ruf....mmmmm.

That is Chamonix. A PITA to drive, but good fun, good fun. PD needs to work on dirt/snow feel. I know you don't have grip levels like dry asphalt. But at the same time you aren't skidding around like you have shopping cart wheels under your car. I've driven on snow ALOT, even raced a VW beetle on an ice course and you still have much more grip than PD's modeled into GT4.

Honestly I think the grip levels in GT3 for dirt are more realistic, while the physics is better in GT4 (meaning how rises and bumps challenge the car).

Chamonix isn't so bad, at least it's not ALL snow. Ice Arena is the real ***** of a track. Nowhere to pass, at all...

But Kensei, when you raced on snow in real life did you have studded tyres, the snow tyres in GT4 are probably whats not right.

Ya there were studs in the tires (well screws, it was WAY low tech and homegrown). But even good snow tires on a normal car will give you more grip than in GT4 on snow.

the snow in GT4 are more like hard ice...

i'm not sure u get more traction from snow tires on normal car then GT4 though.... my car skid like crazy on snow... (except when it's like 6 inches of snow then it just doesn't go anywhere....stuck on the same spot forever...)
i guess normal snow tires won't do u any good on ice surface...

my car in snow (with wintersport M3 snowtires on) ---> understeers like a biotch until you get on the gas, then it oversteers like a biotch ----> main reason for this is that snow tires should be a lot more narrow than summer tires. more surface area = floating on top of loose snow instead of pushing down to the pavement/dirt/whatever.

So, if PD doesn't let you change how wide your tires are, the physics would be accurate, it's just that noone in their right mind would use such wide tires on snow.
