PAL GT3 Question

So...uh what does PAL acutally stand for? Is that the Euro edition? Sorry about the dumb question, I've just never had any contact with it.

And you can be forgiven for not using the

function, as "PAL" is too short a term for it to understand.


It's actually a television format. There are two standards used worldwide (not mentioning the French SECAM system):

PAL: Most of the World. Phased Alternating Line. Images made from 625 horizontal lines, refreshing 50 times a second (50Hz)

NTSC: North America, Japan. National Television Standards Committee. Images made from 525 horizontal lines, refreshing 60 times a second (60Hz).

Images on PAL are "better", but movement on NTSC is smoother.

The BEST Explaination I've yet seen. I am, however, still mystified as to why the "Games" for NTSC NoAmerica & NTSC Japan aren't "interchangable." My digital camera worked fine in Thailand (which NOW uses NTSC/Japan) w/NO adjustments?!?! Any Ideas???...UB57
