Hey, are any of you folks parents, and if so, do your kids play. My daughter is only 14 months old, but when she sees me playing she'll get in my lap, grab the controller and attempt to drive the car. She can give it gas and brake (not at appropriate times obviously), but isn't too good with steering.

I usually end up stopping the race and then putting her in the Nike (kids built it; kids race it) on an easy course. She seems to love it, and I can't wait for the day she gets good at it so I have some competition at home. (My wife doesn't like the game enough to play it more than once a month.)

Not anymore, but my ex-girlfriend had two kids, a twelve year old daughter and a two year old son. I bought and tuned cars for both of them in GT3, The daughter used to race a bit but was more interested in me racing and winning in her car, a lime green RUF boxer. The two year old would happily crash about in his car, an orange NSX, or any other for hours, squealing with joy at every spinout. I think he was trying to mimic the tire shriek. :dopey: Mom wasn't too fond of the game as it cut into her t.v. time, which comprised every waking hour of the day that did not require her being at work and also played babysitter for the most part. In the end, I left, with my PS2, and her in a vegetative coma in front of her deity.

I have a 6yr old son. He plays with his own mem-card. Almost finished all bronze + 3 silvers in the first license. Finished the sunday cup as well.
His favourite track is the speedway with any fast car.
We often play together, me in som old crappy car, he in his car of choice. That makes us somewhat even. I had to set my foot down, though, when he wanted to race the sauber mercedes against me in the subaru 360 at the speedway circuit.

My son is only 3, he will climb up in my lap and watch me race, but he really likes to watch the replays. He will often get a spare controller and sit next to me and pretend he is racing. Immitating me leaning left and right and moving the stick and pressing buttons. I have to control myself while running difficult races with the swearing

My younger daughter (she was 8 at the time) played GT3 a bit with the DS2 controller. She would take a Miata or something out on the Super Speedway and run laps. After a few complete circuits, she'd get bored and yell "Donut time!", then do a bunch of big smoky groundloops.

Ah yes, the great god Television (demanding frequent sacrifices of time and sanity).

I'm glad people are responding. I actually think this game is a great learning tool for kids and adults ... moreso than any other game (excluding educational games). Even my father was impressed with it, and he raced professionally and hates video games. (In all fairness, he was actually impressed with GT1 when it first came out. He hasn't even seen GT4.)

I don't have kids, because I'm too young but I do have a brother his 3 while I'm 14, and I can kind of relate to you and your doughter. He can give it gas and brake and somewhat knows where to go. :)
Try betting with your wife(money)so that she will race with you.:D

Come on the Sauber against a Subaru everybody knows the Subaru will win. :dopey: How low can you get, you should try the ford Model T. Subaru its too fast. :scared:

Be careful with your father stealing your PS2 and GT4!:)
When he visits.

You're in Tokyo and 14? Doesn't that mean you'll soon be recruited for Battle Royale? Just kidding. My wife won't race me for money. Poker, yes. Racing, no.

Speak to Mr.P and Lotus 350. They have children who play GT. They have children who are BLOODY FAST.

My son is 2 yrs old and loves GT4. He will grab the DS2 while I am using the DFP and make car engine noises. He also likes watching the b-spec driver turn laps - the only requirement is that the view has to be set to "Chase" - he gets mad and throws the controller if he can't see the car.

I have 6 months old son. Not interested in the game, but the Dualshock controller tastes very good. :)

YES I dont have any kids cause im only a sophmore in highschool but one time my dads friend had his baby girl over, everytime id be playing gt3 (gt4 hadnt come out yet) she would grab the ds2 and stright to the mouth it would go... eventually if she started crying id unplug the controller and give it too her it seemed to stop her crying... for about 20 mins

All my daughters play GT4 (and GT3!), while they aren't cluey with Tuning and such--niether am I :sly: They are slowly getting better.Eldest one loves the Volkswagon beetle and the second eldest likes the Nike. :)

My friends 2 year old always wants to play when we're playin. We use to give him the Xbox controller while we played on PS2, but now he can tell the difference between the consoles and won't stop tryin for our controller till we give him the right kind of controller to play with, ie. a DS2 when we're playin the PS2. Kind of annoying, but cute none the less.

I have two sons ages 5 and 7 (soon to be 8). Both love the PS2. The older one is great at video games, but the 5 year old has more interest in GT. The problem they both have is, they do not like to brake, and they love to steer. They even steer when they are coming down the Mulsanne straight at 225 MPH. I yell, "get your fingers off the steering, and get ready to brake." but, needless to say they vear off and start the car spinning endlessly down the straight, which they think is cool, especially the replay. When the 5 year old wants to race it's always on the test track, which I can't stand becuase its to boring. He races it like its a slolom.

This is very impressive for a 6 year old. Mine get very frustrated with GT3 and 4, I am glad, because this would mess up my saves (especially which the autosave feature in GT4)and they also end smashing the DS2 in frustration, which I have already had to fix.

They love racing the ATV's in "Off-Road Fury".

The two kids won't play. My boy,16, does only RPG's and similiar themed games. My 21 yo daughter plays only World of Warcraft. However, my wife plays ocassionally. She has multiple sclerosis so her driving days are over. When I got GT3 and the DFP she tried it out and had a blast. She drives like she's looking for stop signs and traffic lights.

One game the 4 of us play together about once a week is Double Dash on the oval course. A universally great game.

My two eldest, girl 8, boy 6 love both Off-Road Fury titles and MX Unleashed but drive very cautiously in GT4, perhaps they're waiting for the jumps.
