Patch 1.06/1.07: Awkward AI Behavior?

One thing Shift's AI did was, as you upgraded your car, they got faster... as if they had upgraded theirs too. It wasn't a strict 1:1, certain upgrades (mostly suspension) got you a bit of an advantage, but add hp, and they did too.

So what if it wasn't perfect? At least it was a STEP that PD seem unwilling to take. Plus, of course, Shift's structure made it impossible to race a ZondaR against a VW Golf. And, you know what? I don't recall ANYONE ever complain about that! Unlike here, where apparently, you have ANY challenge or restriction, it is whined down, no matter how absurd...

I am sorry, but by and large, I have lost respect for the GT5 community, whereas the GT4 community seemed far more adult (at least, willing to accept a challenge). A game that let's you race a Veyron against a Golf..? That is just plain 🤬

My PS3 isnt connected to the web. So i dont have any updates. GT5 is the same to me today as it was back in November. And the AI fall back if you tap them slightly whether on purpose or not. This has nothing to do with new updates (inless they fixed it for patch 1.05 and then changed it back again in 1.06)

No, it's different to all other behaviors. Not by a lot, in some cases, but it's noticeably different from any previous version.

Maybe the AI sucks so bad because Kaz can't seem to pull off a win when he races IRL? At least on the game, he's David Brabham!

Shift had some serious rubber banding effect. It was really noticeable when racing one on one. So yes they did get faster as you got faster. Better handling in often better than more HP with rubber band AI since it kind of kills the point of HP upgrades.

They still do that, the same way. This is different. If you bump them they still lift and drop back a little. What we're(well, I'm) seeing now is a case of them heavily getting on the brake, and staying on it until you are past them, with just overlap. No contact, not even close proximity, is necessary. It's much more prominent (and problematic for them) than the other behaviour. I don't know whether it's not happening to everyone or if some just aren't getting in the right situations to see it.
