Patch 1.11 wishlist

Disagree entirely. They should listen to their customers IMO, not ignore them.

Endurance Race saves was the most asked for change. They even said it was being worked on back in March.

I don't think it's unreasonable for customers to say what improvements are most important to them, and I do think PD should listen.

I agree there should be customer feedback but that doesnt mean they have to facilitate changes that the customer wants.

Just because the majority of us here might want something doesnt mean that PD have to implament it either. If it isnt what PD want for GT5 then so be it.

You say they should listen, they probably are and are considering the things we say, just because they dont do what we want doesnt mean they are ignoring us, they dont have to implament anything they dont want into their game.

Even the OP emphasies "relatively easy fixes" as though that means PD should do the things we want straight away if it isnt too complex, but thats not the way it works. That mightnt have been the intention but thats what the emphasis infers

There is just a sense on this board that what we want is what they should do, but is capitalism not democracy.

I had suggestions and I voted on the feedback page that went up some time ago the same as everyone else I agree with most of the OPs suggestions and very much so with yours about the endurance racing, but that doesnt mean I expect what I wanted to happen just because it might make sense or most people want it

Why is it you have to buy cars one at a time and click back in? I can select multiple cars in my garage, why not in the UCD?

The reason I'm emphasizing this, is to show people that they should be realistic with the things they wish PD to do. It is very possible for them to make these changes, but some people put on suggestions like convert all standards to premium which is impossible for them to do.

They are capitalists indeed, this only makes the need to listen to customers greater. Do what customers want > Happy customers > More sales > More profit.

Here's my list:
* Choose weather, number of opponents and their difficulty at arcade mode.
* Endurance Saves
* Brake upgrades *
* Hood cam **
* Replay Controls
* Paint preview
* Make whole garage available at arcade mode ***
* Get rid of small glitches like freezing at the menus.
* Adjustable difficulty to the A-Spec events.

*It is dumb that you have a car that goes like 370 KM/H but it can't stop. Someone might say that "use racing softs" but if there is a tyre restriction...

** We have a roof cam but no hood cam. Why?

***In my opinion, there can be the favorites system, it's easier to find your favorite cars from there. But it would be better if you could just add the whole garage to the arcade mode.

***REPLAY CONTROLS***

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...replay controls have been a basic, fundamental part of practically every other racing game that I can remember since the first Papyrus NASCAR.

This is so frustrating. All the other suggestions here are great. Well, except for the customize-able gloves someone asked for. I don't want to play dress-up. I want to race. And after the race I want to be able to watch the beautiful replay, pause it, rewind a bit...and take a beautiful photo. All of the other simple, fundamental things that other race games (at least the good ones) have...replay controls, mid-race save, etc...are absent in this game. Instead, we get custom suits and helmets. Yeah, ok, suits and helmets are cool. Woot. But seriously, they are about #245 on a list of priorities, and THATS the point.

TRACKS
RACE SAVES
AND ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH DRIFTING... I MEAN C'MON GT SPONSORS FREAKING D1GP
OH AND MORE REPLAY FEATURES (Free Camera, Slow Down, Rewind, etc.)
Finally a city kind of like burnout just with GT5's Physics that would make great online replays
Fulfill these and GT5 will be amazing.

THANK YOU PD :D

Endurance Race saves and Wheel selection on Standard cars.

This is all I need, and GT5 is perfect to me.

Agreed. I'll race naked if I can just press REW and FF. 👍 :dopey:

A Viking Helmet for my Bob! :D

Nah, j/k...

Change wheels on standard cars, Endurance saves, Point to point tracks on course generator, replay controls and some more tracks and cars and I'll be happy!

I'm definitely for being able to choose opponents. We should at least have that option since PD doesn't want to give us real racing classes.

Greater control in lounge mode perhaps? Start a qualifying session when your friends are in with a format:
Time set session (upto an hour) perhaps set a maximum number of timed laps?
One lap qualifying
something else
Also if they could allow us to keep our fastest time and change settings that would be good. The race could then start straight after qualifying?

Perhaps set time limited races too online
Adjust tyre pressures
Replay controls
I remember them promising something about 32 players in a lounge at any one time, are they going to implement that?
Some old GT4 tracks like Opera Paris.

Rims for standard cars, Endurance saves, More A-Spec, Qualifying before every race, just like GT1 and a premium Bugatti Veyron and Audi R8 LMS Race Car... that's all I want...

Since they added the weight distribution info, they could also easily add:

- An option to also include fuel and driver weight in the weight distribution info
- An option to select the fuel load
- An option to select whether activate or not fuel (+ fuel load) and tire depletion in offline time trials.

And while they're at it:

- Detailed tire temperature info
- Selectable tire pressure

Very good suggestions here, keep them coming! :). And to people saying I should enjoy the game as it is, you are right. I'm enjoying the game as it is right now, and I'm looking forward to enjoying it even more in the future :).

* Brake upgrades *

*It is dumb that you have a car that goes like 370 KM/H but it can't stop. Someone might say that "use racing softs" but if there is a tyre restriction...

It's not dumb, it's correct. :) Tires stop the car, not brakes. As long as the brakes can lock the wheels (or activate ABS), then the only way to improve stopping distances is stickier tires (or major aero).

Brake upgrades, in real life, only prevent over-heating; i.e. they allow *repeated* max-decel stops. Typical stock brakes will fade (can't use all the tire grip) after just a few laps, esp. with sticky aftermarket tires. Brake fade never actually occurs in GT5 -- you can always use all the available grip. Or, in other words, every time you buy a set of upgraded tires, you're also getting a free brake upgrade.

Now back to your 1.11 wishlist...

We'd need different brake kits each differing for maximum power (stock brake systems wouldn't be powerful enough for soft slick tires in real life), fading characteristics, wear, operating temperature (racing brake systems perform very poorly when cool for example), heat dissipation, general feel (for example, drum brakes do not have a very linear feel), etc. Then we'd also need more realistic ABS systems. Brakes in GT5 are simulated pretty much only in basic functionalities. Many improvements needed there.

Btw, how do you guys like my new awesome profile picture, made thanks to patch 1.10

Reminds me of this:

- New Premium Cars
- Bigger prizes in money for the races
- More options of wheels
- New tracks and that in all they can themselves be controlled the hour and the climate

3D to run in 1080p, as opposed to the horribly sub standard resolution it's currently in!

To the OP, great list.

I just finished a 90 minute enduro online. I'd love to capture some of the highlights but I'm not going to sit through that much footage just to get the action on the final lap. Plus, if I miss something I've got to start at the beginning. no thanks.

The only thing I'd add to your list would be...
* The ability to use online physics in practice mode for tuning purposes
* The ability to further restrict performance mods in lobbies. For example, prohibit custom transmissions, power reduction, or ballast.
* Fix the starting grid for online races. If the lobby leader exits to the pits to kick players, he/she shouldn't be relegated to the back row of the starting grid.

Some very good points there, but as far as I know PD never acknowledged the difference in online and offline physics. Maybe online just feels different because of some lag, I really don't know. To me it seems like cars have more oversteer and are less reliable online.

The physics may be the same, it could just be tire wear and the weight of a full gas tank that causes the differences. In which case, there should simply be an option to turn on tire wear in practice mode.

One of my Wishes: PD would inplement intelligence into the Car Ticket what I mean is ticket won't give me a car I already have!

I want to see multi class racing in the two 24hr races but I can't see them adding that somehow :( I want to be able to race GT cars at Le Mans whilst LMP1 cars and Group C cars are all going at the same time.
