why do people pull the plug on races when they are the race/room host and they find they arent the fastest in their little world anymore and stop winning races when a few decent drivers enter the room and give them a run for their money by daring to win a race!! or even worse they change the pp limits or bhp instantly to try and get back at you.

so infuriating and childish!!.

Happened a few times to me as well.. but it can be even more fun to beat them at the new regulations :)

What I find really annoying is when the room owner kicks you once it becomes obvious he has not got a chance of winning... but hey, each to their own.

I'll always host or run with friends and I've zero tolerance for insults, racism and bad drivers... When I say bad drivers I'm referring to the smart guys that always bump you entering corners... You get kicked before you can say Super-cali-fragil-istic-espi-ali-docious two times backwards...

Try those that do that and can't pass fairly even though you're giving room,2 tyre grades and 50pp down and call you a "cheater" when they can't.

Wow.Helpful.

What else could he have said that would have been helpful? He's absolutely right, if you don't like how other people host their lobbies, why not start your own? It's a legitimate point.

I do like it when a host starts changing the PP limits because the car you used before was a little too effective, I mean the PP system is to ensure that a field of cars with the same PP will be at least closely matched, so what difference will it make if they change it? Just go get another car that matches the new limit and out-drive them again.

I say this from a purely hypothetical standpoint as I'm a terrible racer.

.

It's the way Counter said it...the "quit whining" part, Not the actual information. I agree otherwise. Hosting a room is sometimes so much better than joining one.

I agree, if you are that much better a driver it shouldn't really matter what they change the rules to. In fact it should infuriate the host even more when, despite changing all the rules he/she still loses. :)

Fair enough, I totally didn't see that part! I want to host some one-make races, but I'm not sure my connection would be up to it. I drove the Motor Sport Elise for the first time a few nights ago and thought a 400pp Elise-only race would be fun, that way you could get tuned Elises and de-tuned MSE's and Elise RM's racing together, though I'm not sure how close the competition would be (not sure what that has to do with anything, mind you).

This must be a rhetorical question - you can't seriously expect a sensible answer unless you're prepared to stray into the realms of psychology.

You might just as well ask why people play video games in the first place, or even why people log on to the internet to talk about playing video games.

I wasn't going to post here, but the response to counter_z23's suggestion got me thinking.

My personal view is to pass friend requests to any hosts you can get along with and sooner or later you have a nice collection of friends you can race with.

While this is infuriating I am sure, it never really happened to me as I rarely win online. What does get to me though is how difficult it is to make cash online because 80% of the races I enter finish with less than a third of the original field, thus reducing the payout massively. Its no wonder people glitch and rubberband.

What is so wrong with coming fourth against good racers??:grumpy:

If I'm racing online I usually host. I've yet to boot anyone. I've had the server boot me a couple times and I have to restart the room etc, so if it gets shut down it's not necessarily the host doing it.

A couple things I always to is set autostart. I hate sitting there trying to get the host to say what the hell is going on.
I always put any exceptions in the room title, no x1's etc. If someone joins with one I usually just tell them and they'll switch the car out.

Correction, I did boot one guy one time because he kept calling people racist names, but I've never booted anyone for bad racing, guess I've just been lucky.

I'm new to the online portion of GT5. It seems as if I only get booted from any room I join. Ive had the game since release, and a level 29. I waited to jump online till I got my G27. Unfortunately Ive yet too race anyone. I may not be the best racer, but I'll keep it clean and not intentionally wreck anyone.

It's kind of annoying how childish people are online though. Ive been here since the beginning of xbox live in 2002, and man has the community deteriorated.

How do you know they leave because they start losing. Maybe they are getting tired of playing and want to stop. Everyone has to quite eventually.

When we run our series I am usually the host. If someone enters the room and starts using a car that is not allowed, I give them one chance to change their car. If no response or if they refuse they get the boot. I take the responsibility of being the host seriously because if a room gets of control, then people will leave the series and I'd never want to see that happen.

I got kicked yesterday for winning. I was in a Toyota GT One limited as low as it can go and the weight as high as it can go and they were in maxed out rally cars and one was in a Ford GT, just seemed a bit harsh.

You brought a GT-One into a room with Ford GT's and Rally cars and can't figure out why you got kicked?:dunce:

Even with added weight and low power that's like bringing a tactical nuke to a fist fight...:sly:

lol I didn't think it would be that good.

I've just started online. Spent about 5 hours last night going through all my decent cars and tuning them so I have some choices.

I hate it when, someone in a X2010 hits me from behind on purpose going through corners, I had stopped racing online, I only do Freerun online

I hate when the room title says "street cars only" and the host is racing with LM race car or something similar. :grumpy:

Or with the same kind of room title the host and most other are having street cars but there are a couple of stupidos having race cars but the host won't kick them or say anything to them. If you are hosting you must be able to kick people who ruin the races for every one else.
