It was a pre-war GP track (this configuration first used in 1935) This is footage from the 1935 race (the onboard's not quite the same) Tazio Nuvolari winning this race for Enzo Ferrari in an Alfa Romeo P3 GP car (F1 being post war) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pau_Grand_Prix
