silviadrifterLike it or not, there will be downloadable content..... It has been officially confirmed.....

Actually, both the games that use the PS2 HDD have downloadable content. And remember, one of the reasons Polyphony made the GT Concepts was to experiment with modular content. That should tell you that they're thinking about using expansion discs for future GTs.EagleI think in the interest of compatability's sake, GT4 is all we'll get. What PS2 online games actually offer expansion at the moment? I don't know any personally but I don't know everything.
Polyphony001Where? Where's the evidence? I won't take anything to be 'confirmed' unless you have it in writing.
something like http://showmetheevidence.com/iwanttoknowthetruth.html
Give me one of those and i'll be satisfied.
silviadrifterHow can you can you call yourself a GT fan, if you don't know the most common information.....![]()
Life for Speed is a PC game where the graphic resolutions are magnitudes above the PS2, and will require much higher detail in the skins for them to look the right. With the crappy PS2 resolution, a fairly detailed (again, for the PS2) skin could easily be packed into a 150kb file.. Probably even less..PjotrStroganovHmm, to keep a good skin quality it needs to be above a certain resolution. And with very rich skins it is very hard to keep it below 400 in lfs.
Polyphony001I am not an ultra-devoted GT maniac and i do have other priorities dude, lay off..
Polyphony001Presumably the PS2 Hard disk is USB external?
usernamedI thought that the HDD connected through the Network Adapter? (Marketing Scam)
Eagleit's a modified 40GB 5400RPM Seagate HDD
T5-RYou can stick in other HDDs, but they have to be fairly modern so I've heard i.e. 5 years old max probably. I've heard of people putting in their own 80gig 7200rpm drives. You need to format them using special tools.
Although I'm not sure, but I think you need a modded PS2 to have your own brand of HDD.
bwc1976Back to the original subject... In the Flight Simulator world on the PC, people are willing to pay between $20-30 or sometimes even more for good quality expansion planes and scenery. Check out www.flight1.com for some good examples. Obviously GT graphics wouldn't be as detailed as what we've come to expect on a PC (after all this time we still don't have a dashboard view?) and therefore the prices wouldn't be the same, but I believe the same general type of market is there. If GT4 comes out and I'm not happy with the range of American or Australian cars included, then I would be perfectly glad to pay to download an expansion pack when it becomes available.
