Payouts are low but I pledge not to buy credits. Who's with me?

I'm not with you. I bought credits. I don't have as much time to game as I used to due to working more but do have some extra spending money (due to working more) so I decided I'd rather not grind but instead enjoy some fantastic super car action right away.

I was really hoping for some type of loyalty reward from playing gt5, such as some credits or even a special suit but nope nothing.

I don't find the payouts bad, sure its slow in the beginning but they pick up. The goodwood and lunar events paid out very well.

I currently have nearly 1.5M starting with nothing and without spending on tuning. The goal here is to save! If you spend recklessly, you'll find money issues.

I wouldhave had 1 mill, but I spent wildly.

I think the payouts are not bad, once you get into the higher level events they pay pretty well, 50k+ for 5 laps on Motegi Speedway, 133k for 10 laps on Ascari lots of 4-5 lap races that pay 40-50k as well as championships with bonuses for winning the lot.

I ran one of the championships in IA yesterday and it was 5 races 16 cars in them 5 laps on most tracks and 2 laps on the ring each race paid near 50K and then a 70k prize for the championship means about 320k for about 22 laps spread out over 5 tracks. Not bad at all.

So far I have managed to get 38 cars + the 25 AE cars for a total of 63 in the garage, have upgraded and tuned a couple of them and still have a bit over 600k left over, the stats show me as having earned almost 3 mil over the last couple of days and I have spent a lot of that time running the license tests and all of the first 2 tiers, after that I just did enough in each of the other tiers to unlock the license test and check out the higher level races.

This x1000.

People hear micro transaction, play for 5 minutes and then instantly freak out.

The first seasonal's in GT5 also had terrible pay outs.

Grow up and actually commit some time to the game. This isn't Need for Speed or Forza.

Now you know why they didnt let us port our cars over from gt5, F all to do with hacks.

Such a piss poor comment

How, exactly?

People are coming into this game thinking money will just be served up on a platter from the Sunday Cup onward. It's never been like that and the inclusion of micro-transactions hasn't changed that for positive or negative.

In GT5 I had to grind and grind and grind, not only because of the leveling system but because I needed more money, and the prize cars given weren't useful.

I'll agree that change to a lowered rate for prize cars isn't favorable though.

I'll never buy credits but are the payouts really that different from GT5? The only difference are the seasonals with huge payouts but those are like the endgame and they will probably come later like they did in GT5.

Yeah, I agree. Paying real money for virtual money, an item you can earn, is pretty ridiculous. I can understand DLC where you have no choice but to buy, but if there is a seasonal event or other decent paying race then why not just get to grinding?

Edit: @montez34 I believe cheating the system with glitches is still going against the whole "lets do things the dignified way". I think the whole point is to earn your cars fairly. Believe me, otherwise you'll be done with the game in no time.

Here's some help with money because I refuse to buy game credits

If you want to earn $30,000 per minute watch this video

There is a much, much faster to get credit. I'm talking hitting the max amount of credit credit. I got the cars I want and still have a good amount for others.

I'm never going to buy credits. I'm at half a million now, and don't really need to buy any more cars, thanks to the 25 AE cars.

Heck, can I SELL my credits to some suckers out there? :)

I bought the game, I'll earn the credits..I'm in no hurry to buy anything and I enjoy driving what's in my garage now.

I like the payouts but I'm currently only in I-B so I don't know how the later pries scale... I definitely find the lower payouts more rewarding... buying a car really makes you feel good when you can actually afford it and you earned it... the insane seasonal payouts from GT5 made the game not very fun... I found myself grinding the F1 Indy race for way too long in an effort to essentially get all the high end cars... but I never even raced them all... it felt very impersonal...

this way, I know I will not be able to afford all the cars and I'm fine with that... but I will be able to "relate" more to the cars that I own... this feels more oldschool, like GT 1-2 where buying and upgrading cars was expensive but rewarding... GT5 felt like a chore "oh, I gotta get more credits so I can buy/upgrade all these cars"... this is great, I love it...

PS maybe I also feel differently cause I have the 25 Anniversary cars so that pretty much covers the entire range of cars that I will ever need... but even if I didn't have them, I would probably feel the same way

I liked old GT games where you drove more street cars rather than all these beasts... I don't know why I liked it, I think I find the top cars too easy to drive and the slow cars presented more of a challenge to me so I'm really excited this game is geared more towards normal cars rather than all the LMS races that you had in GT5... every LMS car feels exactly the same, it wasn't fun to play them...

Anyways, good move on PDs part I think... games today are just too easy...

The highest payout I have noticed so far for a single race is the 24 minutes of Lemans @ 189K. In S section
In IA section there are several races that pay 40-50K

I expect that they will be adding more seasonals that give a chance to earn some larger paydays as we go as well.

Right now for my friends and I having the ability to share a car would be nice as well as being able to gift a car.

The AI races are too stale to have payouts this low, the races feel like a grind rather then being an enjoyment.

the improved physics make online racing a blast but the payouts are a joke and is seriously hurting the gameplay for me.

I find it interesting that so many on here don't treat Gran Turismo as a game, instead just a tool for them to drive whatever car they desire. I'm not even 20 yet, but I still remember the early games where if you wanted something, you had to put in the time for it - and it was rewarding.

A silly comparison, but I couldn't imagine if literally every Pokemon was available, and easy to catch in the first hour of Red or Green for that old Gameboy. Would just ruin it and leave the game pointless. I know it's just my opinion, but I wish more on here would just slow down and enjoy what cars you get. That's the best thing about Gran Turismo for myself, discovering and falling in love with new cars. I never gave the XNR Ghia concept a thought, but once I drove it and learned about the car I find it's history and slant-6 engine fascinating.

That said I don't support offering paid credits, though it doesn't bother me that they are there.

Wow, seriously? I don't have the game but this is terrible. GT6 is already hard to justify as it is, now the players have to deal with this kind of BS as well.

One more reason not to get this game at all, I was planning to get it used but now there's no way I'm even touching it.

I don't understand how someone can spend their time on GTPlanet (GT6 section too) and not have or want the game?

PD needs supporting, i am a very vocal critic as many know but i wouldn't dream of not buying it.
We need to let the industry know, devs who do stuff out of the ordinary and take risks have our support or we will be stuck with the same yearly COD, FIFA etc games.
If GT6 gets the sound update (and minor bug fixes) it will be virtually perfect.

The difference over GT5 is much more than it appears on paper Pepe, come on man, your one of the long term fans, join us, you won't regret it i promise you.

Since they announced they would be adding GT money for real money transactions, I figured the payouts for races would be low. I've never paid for anything in a game via micro transactions, and I never will. It ruins the fun, and it completely removes the point of playing a game in the first place for me. Earning stuff.

The first seasonal's in GT5 also had terrible pay outs.

IIRC, GT5's first seasonals had crap payouts and gradually increased over time.

Yes, Polyphony saw fit to drastically increase the pay outs for seasonals. Why? Because the "economy" in GT5 was horrible. Now we get GT6, a game with a similar economy but Polyphony has reverted back to the original seasonal payouts.

Why?

People hear micro transaction, play for 5 minutes and then instantly freak out.

That's why and it may also explain why people are "freaking out".

I was all for MT's when they were announced...until I saw the price. I knew money would be hard to come by at first and I wanted to avoid offline as much as possible to get to driving, tuning and racing online. I figured credits would be around $1/1Million or thereabouts. I'd spend $10 at first, equip my garage with a bunch of cars and then earn the rest racing online. But to me the price is outrageous...I can afford it...but don't want to spend it. Sooner or later some money making glitch will come along and bail me out...hopefully...lol. ;)

I just started playing GT6 and I couldn't agree more on that. The Seasonals should get higher payouts and PD should remove the credits from the PS Store.
