Payouts are low but I pledge not to buy credits. Who's with me?

I would never buy in game credits with real money. Not only as a statement against these micro transactions, but also because it ruins the experience of GT mode for me.

I don't think the payouts are lower than in GT5, but a lot of the standard LMS and classic rally cars are a lot cheaper now.

Would be nice if you could test drive cars or have all available in arcade mode, so at least you could see if you like the way the car drives before spending all you credits.

I would pay them 10$ to fix the AI...
(and another 10$ if they double the laps on all career events)

I would pay them 10$ for the ability to craete a own race.. (select every opponent, AI ability, fuel/tire use, damage)

I would pay them 5$ to get the "Training" option back...

I would pay them 20$ for proper engine sounds...

I would pay them 5$ to let them switch me off the Skid Recovery on all Missions/Licence/Goodwood events.

So another 60$ from me, come on PD !

But i am sure as hell not gonna spent a cent on cars/credits...

Some of those prices are a bit steep, but I'd throw them $30 for a Porsche license and I'm sure others would as well. In other words, the community would likely be able to cover the cost of a Porsche license..

No thanks. I paid good $ for GT5 and got pretty much what it offered. I paid even more for GT6 and I do not intend to pay anymore to enjoy the game.

PD has built a loyal base of fans throughout the years - this latest attempt to make more $ just stinks.

If they put B-spec as a DLC and intend for us to pay for it, then that's it for me. GT7 won't be a first day purchase in the future.

No, I will not spend my money on in-game credits. If others want to, that's fine, its not my place to tell them not to. I have no problem at all earning the credits in-game.

it's a bit annoying that you have to grind so much but it really is worth it when you finally can afford something cool...

While MT's are becoming common in the gaming industry today I myself refuse to spend my hard-earned real life cash on in-game credits. That is why we play the game is it not? I feel a sense of accomplishment when I "earn" the credits needed to buy that special car that you really want to drive. What bothers me is the price of some of these classic exotics that are in the 15-20 million credit price range are almost out of reach for everybody that isn't a "dedicated" GT player so that is why (I think) PD put the credit packs in play. Of course I've been wrong before!

I won't buy no in game credits. I want to work hard for credits. The only thing that's kinda helping me out with career mode is my 25 15th anniversary cars.

So here is a warning, if you find a way to make some decent credits in the game, PLEASE DON'T POST it :) Else PD may change it to avoid losing money on those who will buy them. With that said it will be interesting to see if they ever increase payouts like they did with GT5, I could see Kaz and Sony dueling it out over that decision, maybe they already did and Kaz lost....

I think the payouts are fine.

Some of the cars I've won so far have been worth a lot of credits. I have no reason to purchase creds with real money.

True, unless you want to drive more than 2 or 3 of the many expensive race cars in the game. I'm not sure what the total for winnings is in ASpec but at 42% completion in 12+ hours of driving I've won $1.5 Million, enough to buy the rear quarter panel on a 787B Stealth. When I'm done (30, 40 hours:confused:) maybe I'll have $6Million and can buy the whole car..not what I'd characterize as "fine" in a so-called "car encyclopedia", where you can't earn enough money by finishing the game to have even a half decent garage. Even in the wacky circumstance you won $20Million in A Spec, it still only gets you one of the expensive classic cars. 1.

I did get the credits for the anniversary edition... I wanted to force myself to wait untill i got 1m credits normally before i was allowed to use those, but i relented and got the Speed 12...

Anyway, i am not going to buy credits otherwise. Seems like nonsense.

In GT5 it was way too easy to get credits fast. At least with the new system finally saving up all that money for that one (very expensive) car you wanted will make it all the more special. 👍

+1 to the OP. I will never, ever support this brand of gaming extortion. You literally are giving away your money "something" for in game credits "nothing". Still, micro-transactions would be fine by themselves, if It didn't dome along with obvious manipulating of the game experience so that obtaining already paid for content for "free" requires work (grinding) so as to encourage people to plug their CC into the credit ATM.

And specifically to the post I quoted. All due respect, but I don't get why people get a feeling of specialness from what is in reality just lines of code. All I want to do is race the cars in what is supposed to be a racing video game. I could care less about collecting or economy or any of this other stuff. I'd just like to race the cars that I want to race around the track on a game I've already payed a premium price for within a reasonable time frame. Is this too much to ask.?

The problem isn't the payout, it's the prices of cars and the abysmal resale value. I NEED an FGT, LMP, NASCAR and WRC. The fact that I have to grind for days to be able to afford just one of those to progress the game is ridiculous. You shouldn't grind to progress in any game.

Because you had to work for it. Same as doing saving up to afford something in real life gives it a sense of specialness and achievement.

I agree that the payouts probably are a little too stingy in the later races, but increasing them too much just brings you to the GT5, 20 million in an hour and a half gameplay.

I'm with you OP. If I could buy a billion credits for $20 I would, but it's so insanely expensive right now I won't even consider it.

Even if everyone of us here does not spend any money on the credit packs, its not going to make a difference, there are going to be a lot people I bet buying them that will out number the amount of user's this site has.
So true i haven't buy any but my best friend he got 2 of the 7,000,000 millions

They're just not that low to me. I'm pretty satisfied. In fact, I WOULD have paid for microtransactions if proceeds went to charities like the Ayrton Senna Institute, not just the game itself.

So it's like GT5 when it came out. And most other driving games. You can't buy all the cars at first. I haven't fired up GT5 and recorded the win amounts, before they had log in bonus and big credit seasonals, but I think it's pretty close to what it is now. My guess is it will continue to be like GT5 and you well make more credits as the game gets older.

Not to rub it in, but I got the 15th Anniversary Edition with the 25 extra cars in your garage at the start. The only car I bought so far is the Fit. I've bought lots of parts though. I will not be buying credits either.
