I was just seconds away from ordering everything and the case that ive had on my wishlist for more than a month all of sudden gets popular and sells out... lol Im not gonna lie, i was a little irritated XD

My Build

I had hose the Black Rosewill Thor V2, since it appears to have very good cable management, air flow, and alot of expandability options.

So i went and looked for another case with similar specs and same price range and found this. AZZA Solano 1000R

It would be easier to choose between these two if had them in front at arms reach. So should i just wait for the Rosewill to come back in stock or go with the AZZA?

Also thanks again to the people who helped me out choosing parts awhile back in an older thread :D

I'm liking the look of this case. You may not like the blue strips but I've heard of a PSU made by Silverstone which has the same blue strips, can be removed(or even repaint it with paint as I've heard). I'm not saying it's definite but you could shoot an email to Silverstone if you like the case.

It looks like you are waning to go with a full tower, that's a good idea in my opinion. Unless physical size is a problem, a full tower offers a lot of benefits over a mid-tower. With the heat modern processors and gpu's put out, not to mention the sheer size of todays gpu's, a full tower makes it much easier to manage air flow (or even better, it has room for any water system you want to run).

Stick to the best case you can afford, don't spend big bucks on components and then stick them in a budget case, you will regret it at some point. I've always used Lian Li cases, Silverstone also makes some excellent cases as does Antec. These are by no means all the good makers, and even they may have budget cases that I would steer clear of. The Lian Li I'm using now has had a LOT of different components in it over the years, air cooled, water cooled, and I even built a phase change unit inside the bottom of the case for a case modding competition. I paid well over $300 for it, but it will last a lifetime.

Here is my case when I modded it for the competition (I got second place and recieved a new Antec 300 case, Fesser 360 radiator, and 4 laser cut fan grills as prizes) It's a Lian Li V2000B and it was tough fitting the phase unit in, but there is still room for a good liquid loop for the gpu's.

@Nick lol no not really, im not a fan blue in PC cases either. XD

@boshunter thats pretty cool, way above anything i would ever do.

Idk, i was really looking forward to the Black Rosewill, and i dont feel like spending over $130 for a case but i might go with the white one (which is for some reason $20 more and i dont like it as much lol). I didnt really plan on having to shell out whole lot for a case when i started my build. haha

Ive been looking at some of the higher rated Mid Size cases which are a bit cheaper but also look pretty cool... but is it possible to fit what i chose inside one without too much hassle?

Like, the Raidmax Smilodon almost has almost full size dimensions, but a review said they had to cut some nubs off of the GPU stabilizer to fit a "bigger" card without giving their cards dimensions. I also seen someone say they had problems mounting a Graphics card because their HDD was in the way.

Them having problems mounting a graphics card because a hard drive is in the way, could be simply they put the hard drive in the wrong slot.

Most mid towers have several slots to install a hard drive.

You have to remember when reading reviews on PC hardware, that some people aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Always been a cooler master fan. Generally all my non rack server builds I do for work are built in Cooler Master cases.

Remember on that white case will shows the nicks/scratches/grime.

Yea i was thinking abut that, i thought if i went with the white case, i would cover it in JDM auto parts decals lol

I will make my decision soon, once i order everything and have it together ill make a thread with photos. :D

Cooling: The size of the case makes little difference for cooling. The most important thing for keeping your computer cool is flushing out hot air and pulling in new air.

Try to find a case with more intake fans than exhaust fans. This is called positive case pressure. With more air being pushed in than being sucked out, the case would have higher pressure air inside of it. Since the case has seams and leaks in it, the extra air will bleed out through these seams and thus keep dust out. Dust on computer parts makes them heat up much more quickly. Dusty parts are basically wearing a sweater.

Size: Full towers are really, really big. Unless you are certain that really need the bulk, go with a Mid-Tower. It will fit all of your parts with ease (including extra hard drives you might install later) and be much easier to place in your room and transport. People with monster computers could make use of the Full Tower. It doesn't seem like you will. There's simply no reason to pay more for the extra bulk and size if you don't need it.

Lights: I recommend against buying a light-up computer or at least removing the LED's once you get it. If you sleep in the same room as your computer it can be a bother when you have to leave it on overnight or while you do something else. It can also be annoying if you plan to use the computer in the dark (perhaps to watch movies?). Besides, it looks a bit silly if you don't live in Tron World.

Edit: Here's a good case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139008 It has white LED's that can be removed or changed.

Edit2: Why do you need an 850W Power Supply?

If I may say one thing too, the ASUS Sabertooth is of standard ATX form factor. 99% of cases that are full tower, are designed to fit XL-ATX (or Extra large ATX) motherboards. XL-ATX boards are 10 slots long (and sometimes wider), over the useral ATX 7 slot.

If you go with a full tower, you're going to have two slots of room between your board and your power supply, which in my opinion makes everything look weird.

Of course, it's up to you, just throwing that out there. I'm probably just being overly picky about it, for me everything has to be nice and fitting, but tidy at the same time. The motherboard, being the heart and soul of the rig, imo should be the center of attention. That kinda makes the PSU and graphics card stand out more.

EDIT: Mind you, that's a bull:censored: cable job, dismiss the cables. You'd be able to do a better job than that, no matter what case you choose.

EDIT2: Yeah, 850W PSU is a bit steep. You could get away with a 650, and save some money. Unless you're planning to go with a Crossfire setup later on, then keep the PSU.

@ HE1RO

If you do decide to go with a mid case I can also recommend the case Zenith linked to. I just recently built my system using that case (thread here) and everything went together with ease.
Also if led's are not your thing you don't have to remove them, there's a swith on the front panel to turn them on/off. Mine have been on once to make sure they worked and that's it.

Cheers Shaun.

I see... thank you all for the input. Since all of you are saying i shouldnt have a problem getting things to fit and still look nice i will look more into Mid Size cases. I like the Corsair, i actually know someone who is getting that same one.

And about the 850watt PSU. I do plan on going sli in the future, so i thought i might as well get a nice 5 year warranty one instead of buying a bigger one down the line.

And yea... that ATX does look pretty small, and the cables are a bit sloppy. lol

I just bought it all today, and after seeing the pic of the ATX in a full case, i went with the 400r. I also chose to get two more extra fans for its side intake.

I feel pretty nervous, especially once i get all the parts and have to put it together. :P
I dont want to mess up so any protips? lol

I changed the power supply to an 850w FSP Aurum Pro Gold and it appears i got the last one :D

I'm by no means an expert (only built one pc ) but the 400r should give you no issues. Everything went together in mine with ease with good options for cable management.

Only advice I'll give you with the case is to be carefull with the thumbscrews for the side covers. Just make sure they start easily as to me it feels like the thread in the case could be stripped easy.

Good luck.

Cheers Shaun.
