Since I decided to get a PC for now instead of the XBOX360 I want to eventually look at some games for it.
Currently between my girlfriend and I we have Age of empires 3, Yuris Revenge, Red ALert 2, Sims 2, FEAR, Half Life 2, Roller COaster Tycoon 3, Zoo Tycoon 3 and several others.
My computer can run FEAR on the highest quality so I think I can run any game you throw at me. I have about 175 games on the PS2 and somewhere around 30-40 for xbox and they vary between anything you can think of so im quite open for suggestions.
I love Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for the xbox and kinda thought of getting it for the PC but im not sure if I would want it for both systems. I like it for the xbox because Heather and I can play together online since she also has the game.
Lets hear some suggestions and I will check back in a few days. I wont be able to get games for probably another month.

I disagree...if you've got it for Xbox already and you buy the PC version, you're gonna end up not playing one of them so don't waste your money. I'm assuming you like racing games so I definately suggest GTR, GTLegends, and Live For Speed S2 full version. All are great games and especially fun with the DFP. 👍

-What about all the BF2 addons? ;)
-I enjoy Day of Defeat: Source, a HL2 WWII mod that's pretty fun for online play.
-If your into RPG's, I've been getting some enjoyment out of Oblivion, plus the graphics are awesome!
-I recently inquired about some racing games, check that thread for suggestions there...
The Graphics of Need For Speed: Most Wanted are pretty awesome and worth checking out, but it's just good fun racing arcade style.
-If you like Age of Empires and the Lord of the Rings, I might suggest LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 for some real time strategy fun....

That's about it for now...

Have fun!

But it's pretty cheap over here, there are some great mods (PRMM :D) and he can play against us! Also nothing is better than playing on a 64 player map. I have the PS2 version myself and I can say that PC BF2 is much, much better. But he might end up ripping his hair out with all the patching and whatnot.

Here's a list:
- GTR and GT Legends
- Live For Speed S2
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Black & White 2 (awesome graphics, and there's an expansion pack coming up which looks cool)
- Photoshop

I have BF2 for a couple of months, but except for the huge map size it's just being fast in getting to flags, go prone and shoot when you see an enemy.

But it's not like a simple formula cant be effective, it's just not enough for me. Try to download Americas Army 2.6 for free;) After 1 year I'm still an average player at it, you'll get pro at it after you played for like 2 years or so. It's really difficult and tactical if you like a challenge. And it's free:D And it doesn't look like it's free, it has one of the best gun sounds around and the graphics are by far not ugly.
Dont let yourself judge the game by searching for the topic here on the forums, it doesn't seem popular at all here, but it's definatly worth it and an underappreciated game!

BF2 is completely different on PC. I think on the console version there is this thing where you die and then become another member of your army or something? BF2 on PC is primarily an online game, the singleplayer sucks, but if you are looking for a great online game you should check it out.

I supposed you guys are right about BF2. I own the PC version and played the Xbox version at a friends house. I much prefered the PC version.

Black & White 2, as already mentioned, is really fun! Didn't know there was an expansion coming, though!

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is supposed to be great, too.

Well since you like RTS games, might wanna give Acr of War: Direct Action a try. It's just as good as any C&C, and it did make it to the Top10 of 2005. So it's definatly a great game. And it has really good in-between mission movies. With actual people, and props! Very fun game.

I also recomment CS:Source, though you probably have that.

GTR is great, but I'd suggest waiting for GTR2 if you're not that into sim games and just want it for now and then.

Oblivion for sure, I've gotten quite a bit of play out of it. Great game with an awesome story line to it.

For RTS Star Wars Empire at War is really good, I've gotten quite a few hours out of playing that.

Farcry, Doom 3, NFS: Most Wanted, C&C: Generals, Live for Speed S2, Tomb Raider: Legend (When it comes out. The demo is great). Cant think of anymore right now.

Tomb Raider is out today :) (over here). If you get GTR (or any PC racing sim) get a DFP (or just a regular DF) because it's very, very fun.

Thanks for all the replies. I will have to keep an eye on some of these games. BF2 will probably be a must have game if I get another one. I also heard Quake 4 is pretty good.
I have heard of Black and White. I just watched the trailers and it did look like an extremely fun game. It also looks extremely colorful like Kameo for the 360. I added Black and White to my list for sure to check out. I watched this GTvideo review trailer. Looks sooo fun!
I like how you can care for or punish your animal. He was smacking him around in the trailer.

If you like Real Time Strategy games I'd suggest Star Wars: Empire at War, Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. Sure warcraft and starcraft are quite old they're still great games and if you play online you can always find someone to play against

I also heard Quake 4 is pretty good.
I'm playing through it at the moment and I'm really enjoying it. There's nothing revolutionary or outstanding about the gameplay, but it's good old-fashioned shoot-anything-that-moves FPS alien blasting fun.

It uses the same game engine as Doom 3 and is also set on an extraterrestial military installation so looks and feel very similar, but I thought Doom 3 was very overrated in the gameplay department (wow! I've walked into a room and a demon has burst out and attacked me and/or zombies have attacked me from behind - I didn't expect that to happen again! How scary!). IMO Quake 4 is a much better game.

Heather is buying me Black and White 2 today. :) Its for my birthday so I wont be able to play it until next week.
She was looking for Far Cry but I told her I would rather have B&W2 since I have Far Cry for the xbox already.

Just started playing Tomb Raider: Legends, pretty cool if you like puzzle/action/adventure and the virtual Lora Croft. Anyways, great graphics utilizing HDR and Shader 3.0 effects. I'm not far into it, but it seems fairly straight forward and Lora is sexier than ever.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. Heather picked up Far Cry, Black and white 2, and King Kong for me this weekend for early B-day presents.
Black and white 2 is by far the best graphics game I have seen on the PC. I posted a very quick first impressions thread of this game. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80142
Far cry has great graphics too but nothing like BLack and White 2. Here are my Far Cry screenshots. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80113
I played Kong for about an hour or 2 and it was quite fun. The graphics are ok nothing too great but so far the game is fun. I just want to be Kong so I can snap some dinosaur jaws and create some carnage.

I played COD2 for the XBOX360 and it was ok but nothing compared to BF2. :sly: If I get another shooter for the PC it would be BF2 for sure.

Do you have Half Life 2 yet.

It looks pretty, it has amazing gameplay, and some of the coolest weapons ever (upgraded gravity gun, need I say more?).

Read first post. :sly:

Well I think its time to bump this thread again. I have $25.00 to spend on something at Circuit City and I am thinking of a PC game. Probably a PC game for Heather to play. She just beat Black and White 2 and almost the entire expansion for it. I have heard that if we like B&W2 we wont like the original B&W because we cant tell what our creature wants? Is that true or will we like B&W if we can even find it?
I am open for more game suggests too for the PC. We still have all the games in the first post. haha thats funny reading the first post. It was before we had our 360s.

I didn't like B&W at all, the second one is awesome (I have the expansion too).

Command and Conquer 3 is pretty good if you feel like paying some extra cash and if you haven't played or gotten Oblivion yet I suggest picking that up along with the expansion sets. Oblivion is the most addicting non-MMORPG I've ever played (WoW beats it out) but I've put over 230 hours on the game.

We dont care much for Oblivion. Its a very very good game but its just not for us. We played it on the 360. We arent too much into RPG's. We were thinking about getting C&C 3 for the 360s but I dont know yet. Sooo close to the release of Forza 2 and the Halo 3 beta so we are very picky on what we buy right now.

Any other PC suggestions? I still have the $25.00 Circuit City gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket. It expires July 30th so I have some time to decide.

well, i dont know. these guys named already the best games so far.The only thing what would i come up with would be GTA:SA wth all the mods. (if you dont have it yet)

Otherwise i would recommend BF2, GTR2, and my all time favorites NOLF (No One Lives Forever) and NOLF2.

chris:)
