PC Not Booting OS from DVD

Ok.
Do you have the MSI splash screen disabled for the BIOS? That way you can see whether the cpu/ram/hdd/dvd are all detected by the mobo. If the ram doesn't show you know it's likely the issue. Same goes for HDD, if it's not detected then obviously you can't install onto it.
And dvd is set as first boot device, with others other moved down or disabled?
I'm just gonna say get a different mobo. I've only had one msi board, on my latest build, and it was a pain in the ass as well.
I'm trying to read the thread and catch up so sorry if I ask what already has been asked.
 
Appreciate the suggestions my friend. Here's an overview:


- All devices and memory detected in system profile
- Replaced mobo, this is the 2nd P67-G43
- Replaced the HDD
- Replaced the DVD drive
- Changed SATA cables
- Replaced PSU
- Changed RAM

I'm going to try a new CPU tomorrow. This was a new PC build, so all of the parts are thankfully still under warranty. I've been at this thing for quite a while.
 
Hmm, have you tried putting windows onto a USB drive and going from there?
You would have to download a version of windows from MS and use your CD key.
Anyway, seeing as all the google results coming up for the board and booting issues seem to be yours anyway, you seem to be covered.
Even if the CPU is culprit, I would suggest you return the board and get an asus/asrock board and be done with it.

How many HDDs do you have plugged in? All are brand new and empty? No previous OS installs?
 
So I ditched the MSI motherboard and went with a Gigabyte board instead. Problem solved instantly. Two MSI boards with the exact same issue... I won't be using their products again.
