Do you have the MSI splash screen disabled for the BIOS? That way you can see whether the cpu/ram/hdd/dvd are all detected by the mobo. If the ram doesn't show you know it's likely the issue. Same goes for HDD, if it's not detected then obviously you can't install onto it.
And dvd is set as first boot device, with others other moved down or disabled?
I'm just gonna say get a different mobo. I've only had one msi board, on my latest build, and it was a pain in the ass as well.
