Any sim demos/trials that I should try out?
Preferably free.
My computer is pretty up to date, so specs aren't a problem.

Doesn't a free demo for that come with the G27 when you order it from Logitech?

M3 Challenge isn't really a demo for GTR, although still worth a try.
You can download demos for rFactor (60 min. full trial, note that the basic game is pretty bad without mods), LFS, GTL, GTR² and GTR Evolution, if I were you I would try everyone. But bear in mind that the games are only really good with mods (except LFS because there aren't any "legal" ones) and the demos (except the rFactor trial) aren't moddable.

rFactor Lite is free and can be modded into something equivalent to the full version.

The Live for Speed demo isn't too bad. You can get a pretty good taste of the game and it's never hard to find a good online race with competent players.

Yeah, the only reason I wanted to get these demos was to compare playablity and realism.
Obviously I would mod the full versions.

LFS, and Netkar Pro. I'm not sure what cars come with NKP demo, as I bought the full version, but the Formula KS2 in NKP is one of the best cars I've driven in any sim I've tried so far (tried LFS, GTL, GTR2, rFactor). The physics and FFB in this game are very well done.

rFactor and Sim Bin series (GTR2, Race 07, Evo.. ) because of the large number of mods. NetKar is nice but there isn't too many cars, Live For Speed doesn't have licensed models.

Yes it will. The shift lights work on the wheel too with this copy.... but not on the full version for some strange reason.
