Faith. I'm a true believer. :D

I just can't accept that that little Cell doesn't have anything else left hidden in it...

Then again, I might just be in denial... :ouch:

The only thing is the PS3 and cell have been out almost 6 years, the developers have had it longer. If they haven't figured it out yet, when will they?

GT5 has plenty of life left, and GT6 should really be made as a PS4 launch title, late 2013 / early 2014.

I agree, GT5 is stressing the capabilities of the PS3, and GT6 has no business sense for this console, even if it is powered by the almighty Cell.

Long live PD, and thanks for your game.
Hope PS4 has SSD for OS / cache.

I do feel the same way as well.
Because it's been a while without any update or anything from PD.
I don't think they will realase GT6 with PS3 platform due to the late release on PS3.
So one portion of the team does update and bug fix.
Looking from a business perspective, most likely 70% of the work force will be working on GT6, hence the delay update/bug fix on GT5.
I think they will do whatever they can before GT6 with PS4. But it's going to be slow.

I read/heard, only in one place that I haven't found since, that 55-60% of the people working for PD make up the graphics department. That was when we knew there were about 140-150 people working there. The size of the team working on Online updates isn't known, so we can only imagine how many people are working on what.

For me they don't really need to push the PS3 any harder to get a lot more from GT5.. for me it's all about content.. I want more tracks, and more cars, that just takes up additional storage space.

Also, GT 6 WILL NOT be a launch title for the PS4, GT6: Prologue would be, GT6 will follow 18 months later, so, I reckon GT 6 is 4 to 5 years away, if it's a PS4 title. Which is crazy... all I want it tracks and cars, they don't need a PS4 for that, and they can sell me as many cars and tracks as they can model for the current title.

Well i'd love to hear that the Porsche license is coming to GT5, cause Flopza's may DLC confirms Porsche is coming back to FM4..I've Got FM4 and I've got a top BenQ monitor that I play GT5 on, my PC sims, and Boreza4 (I guess you guys now know I'm hating on FM4. LOL's).

I booted up the GAME (Not sim) once again (FM4). I've got the Fanatec CSR wheel with clubsport pedals, and dam after playing so much GT5 and then booting up FM4 i'm like shaking my head..So sad that 360 people claim FM4 has taken the crown over GT5. Graphics are horendous.. My eyes water on an amazing monitor like mine to see some of the corners accurately coming up cause of the horrible dashes for white paint lines and jaggies and flicker are just so ugly to look at..

You can really tell that Turn 10 milked every drop out of the power of the 360 to create this UGLY looking racing game...Have you seen Indianapolis speedway in the cockpit view of this joke? Just aweful.. I laugh at FM fanboys that think FM is better then GT5.. It's not on the same hemisphere.. Yes the sounds for some of the car engines I agree are aweful in GT5. But Graphics/Physics cannot be compared period!!

So Porsche is coming back to FM4? Man, if PD would jump on the bandwagon and get the Porsche license as well, then the reality of the cars would be sooo much greater then Turn 10 could ever think of producing.. Dam GT sells cars by how real they look.. What's up with Porsche not looking at GT the way they do EA NFS Shift (Now that license ended, now I know why Turn 10 ran to them) and Forza? Shakes head..

PD get on the bandwagon.. Porsche is like the only other big name that hasn't come on board with the GT series ever.. Ruf isn't good enough..Disappointed that GT5's Ruf''s are standard as well..

I think you worded that wrong, because it's not true.

.

oh c'mon guys ! We ALLLLL know it's going to be spec 3.0!

*Photo Stream
*ALL Premium wheels available in the wheel shop
*Adjustable Sound sliders (time to crank up that beautiful exhaust note!)
*Adjustable Field-Of-View sliders with Dynamic Chase-Cam on/off
*Paint Chip Purchasing system
*Arcade/Online Options in A-Spec (A.I. Difficulty, Grip levels, Damage, Slipstream adjust)

..and….. EVENT CREATOR!

Now, seriously- do any of these things sound like they would take as much time to implement as say.... a 20-million polygon Lamborghini?

In my opinion we won't be seeing gt6 anytime soon, but who knows if a major update come in may when forza's Porsche expansion comes. That is what they did when fm4 came out by releasing a major update. Even if the ps3 is maxed out with gt5, it doesnt mean new content can't be uploaded. They might as well release a little more content to earn more revenue to design new cars, tracks, etc. And even if they hold all that extra content for gt6, I still wonder how much content do they really have?

I think we'll be seeing GT6 sooner than you think. Look at the history of GT and how each release was spread out. The first game for each system took a while, then the second release was much larger and didn't take quite as long to come out.

I think GT6 will be out in the next couple years or so, and have a lot more features than GT5.

Haha, yeah in more ways than one it would seem.

In what way?...Calling Forza Flopza and Boreza? I corrected the Porsche coming to GT5 sentence...I've had enough trying to see the fast corners coming up in that last gen looking game...Graphics are a problem in cockpit mode with Forza..Hood cam looks better.. 360 can't handle all that Turn 10 has thrown at that machine to try to match GT5...Ain't gonna happen..

Don't get me wrong, Poor graphics doesn't mean some games can't be good. But in racing titles for me, you got to have good clean graphics..When you play hours of GT5 and iRacing on PC with Graphics maxed, then you pop in Forza, it is like really sore on the eyes...

But GT5 now has DLC which could radically change their strategy compared to how they did things previously.
They can now charge much more for less content (compared to content on disk) and continuously update an existing game and thus extend its lifespan (and most GT-games already had a long lifespan).
Don't know how much they earn by releasing DLC every 2 months and if the total over a few years is more than the earnings of releasing GT6 with all the GT5 DLC content already included but I'm guessing they're not in a hurry yet to release GT6.
History may not be the best way to predict the future in this case.

Getting back on track (see what I did there), GT5 may be pretty much maxed out in terms of quality, but in terms of content the only limit is the size of your HD. I'm hoping for some spectacular downloadable content, and as for GT6, it'll still be a step above, just think outside the box, it's all about detail nowadays =)

Damn. Has it been that long?

Feel like it was yesterday that I bought my shiny 60gb PS3s... :(

There's a part of me that doesn't want to accept that, but I guess you're probably right...

I hope the silence before the storm is to give us a descent AI update and give us exciting new events with changing weather and nighttime races on the best circuits available in the game already.

That would make the game perfect for me and keep me happy waiting a year or 3 more for GT6 (wich are all realistic expectations).

Let's just hope PD is listening this time...

It was November 2006 when I stood out in the freezing cold hungover waiting to get a PS3. I'll never forget it because I came home with a Wii instead.:( Eventually got my 60gig July 2007, the day of the first price drop.

Hoodge, stop trying to turn this into a Forza vs GT5 thread.

Sorry...Wasn't trying to..Just upset about Porsche not being on GT yet.. It's one of my favorite brands...Must be a reason why Porsche has not committed to a PD product yet.

Decent AI? How many racers do you play.. The AI is actually better then you think then a lot of hardcore sims on PC as a matter of fact.. Notice how they will stay on their side of the corner if you are on the inside...Or when you spin out and are in the middle of the track the cars will go left of you or right of you..

I do wish like Prologue tho that you could adjust the AI sensitivity up to a scale of 100...Wonder why they only have 3 levels of AI in arcade single race mode? Anyways at least for the most part, the AI cars act and behave in a more realistic manner then Forza or many other racers..

I seriously don't think the PS3 is anywhere near being "maxed out".

Developers just haven't unlocked its full potencial because:

- when designing a multi-platform game, developers use the X-Box 360 as the lowest common denominator, since it's technically inferior and easier to program for. So the PS3 gets held back on multi-platform games;

- regarding PS3 exclusives, I don't think developers have fully mastered designing for the PS3 yet, because of it being harder or just plain different. No doubt PD and, for example, Naughty Dog, have taken hardware use to a whole new level, but I still think there's plenty of uncharted territory to discover. (pun intended :D)

That being said, though, I still think PD will choose to prolong GT5's life through DLC, rather than develop a new game for the PS3.

I suspect there's just so much content they want to put in GT6 that they won't have the time to do it in the PS3's lifespan. :dopey:

Having a shortage of RAM and VRAM is the very definition of maxed out.

The reason is PD doesn't have full control of how they spend their money. Sony is in a very tight situation right now financially. Some of the higher ups just don't see the point in paying what EA wants for a sublicense when less then 25%(Guess) of the community are screaming for Porsche while the rest are enjoying the game and the other content that is coming.

Back on thread comment, I wouldn't doubt it if PD does have more stuff to release due to going almost a YEAR without showing anything(GT5-spec 2.0 timeline). Still hoping for a SuperGT Addon come the start of this season.

From a fan-interest point, it would be better for PD to hold something back. Although the average user here are OK with the bi-monthly DLC, that might bore less active users, where as one DLC that saves up 5 or 6 months of work would get more publicity.

Just imagine how much more impressive the DLCs would look combined instead of separate; you'd get Spa, Route X, the X2011, and the Avantador all in one update, with the other cars that a majority of people care less about.

If they did that, interest in the game would spike for a few months, and because the DLC would have so much content fewer people would complain about the DLCs costing too much and having too little content.

I also wonder when that NSX concept will be released. Most likely PD might already be working with Nissan's new car for the v8 series.
