Hi GTP, this is my first post here, so I hope it is relevant.
Lately it seems that multiple minor leaks have been occurring regarding GT6, with Michael Denny saying it would be on PS3, and more recently, cars being scanned, and the title for the album being "Scansione Per Gran Turismo PS4"...
First of all, I find it strange that the vice president of Sony Studios Europe would slip like that, and not realize that GT6 was not announced, and secondly that the italian manufacturer would be so stupid to label their photo album GT PS4...
The reasoning for PD intentionally do this? Well, it generates a lot of buzz for the game, as media outlets eat the info up and write stories on it. It is basically free advertising, and ingrains 'Gran Turismo 6' into peoples brains.
The last game in my memory that seemed to do this was Assassins Creed 3. Months before it was officially announced, different 'leaks' said the game would take place in Egypt, then the French Revolution. Later, the cover for the game was leaked, and the hype was at insane levels at that point. Because Ubisoft had gotten everyone confused about the game's setting, when the true setting was actually shown, there was even more hype for the game.
I think PD is doing the same thing right now, having little pieces of info slip out in order to generate buzz and news stories. If it is true it seems like a good strategy to me, what do you guys think?
