Maybe we will get that for GT6 then. It looks like more modeling will be needed. Good idea on the tweets.👍

Need for Speed Shift 2 did a great job on recreating it. Pretty easy to find and am shcoked PD let EA show it up like that.

... my friend and I glitches off monza and found out that the straight isn't not there...

Can you give us more info?
How much of the banked is there?
Does first corner go until the overpass of the Serraglio corner?
What do you mean with 'the straight is not there'? What you can see between the overpass and the banking behind the Parabolica?

A bit too much questions đź’ˇ

Modelling the whole of Monza would be a waste of memory, like Le Mans, bits of circuit you can see are modelled at low quality and the bits you can't are not there at all.

The first banking stops halfway before the overpass and I can't get to the straight, yet the trees in the track preview are just 2 rows to cover where the straight is soooo... I guess its not there but it just gives false hopes. :( however the whole last banking is there. :) so as I see it, the last half of the first banking is completely not there and since the straight is so far out we'll never know.

How did you do this? If you did this in gtpsp I wanna know :)

I think an Action Replay is able to unlock a Debug Camera Mode, which you're able to capture an image in any angle. This isn't a primal answer, as I don't own neither items, including the PSP itself.

You guys remember how Kaz said that he wanted us to "redo" history when adding the Ford '66 race car, the Jaguar and the Ferrari? I wish he would do the same with the fabled Oval from Monza. :(

A totally free camera for GT5 photomode would be a welcomed edition, Polyphony need to do it asap. 👍

I've glitched out of the track on the main straight and driven back out through the trees and the banking, and entire circuit for that matter, just suddenly disappears. Disappears as in it just stops being there and is replaced by the void of emptiness, so it's not "completely" modelled, but is pretty much 90% all there.
Gonna try and get on there again in a while and get some pics so will be back later with some results.

(EDIT: It would seem that PD have been clamping down on our explorative abilities, as I can only get about 30 feet outside the track now, so no pics folks)

:( my gtpsp freezes when I have cwcheat on so I can't even access the main menu...

Some hours ago I tried the glitch, hoping to take good photos, but I can't drive like the X2010 in the video posted some pages ago. Before I reach the middle of the parabolica, the game took me back on the track (I'm on version 1.12).

As someone else said, the oval track is there, but just visually.

Anyway, I took a couple of photos (quite "vintage" :D):

I really think it would take PD like 75 hours or something to model it in completely. They should do it,.

Yup, the Monza oval is in Shift 2. Not really playable, but can drive around the barriers and go flying around it. Really I'm surprised it is fully modeled.

Would be really neat if GT5 could include some vintage tracks including the Monza oval. Yes, and driving the old cars in GT5 on the old tracks would be epic with the graphical quality of GT5.

Theres another, rather unknown track out there in Autodrome de Linas Montlhery outside of Paris. Also has a very high banked oval similiar to that of Monza and a great 12.5 km road circuit that has been shortened to 2.5 km. Unfortunately this track has mostly fell to disrepair and is barely used anymore.

Here's short clip I found of the banking(not very many good videos of this track)

Not the best thing to do with a car, but Ken Block gymkhana 3 is impressive. The good is that it used Monthlery. Enjoy in-car cam on the banking ;)

Like the old NĂĽrburgring Sudschleife, always living in the shadow of its big brother, the Nordschleife? It's one of my favorite deceased tracks. :D Here's a vid (they're not easy to find).

Yep, it´s part of the old oval. Very funny that you mentioned this, because this morning I spent almost an hour running oround Monza, trying to "break" the invisible walls with my good old Buick GNX, so I could get a better look at the old oval.

Nice that you brought this up. It does look a little bit pixelated, which tell me that it isn´t fully modeled and working in game, but maybe in the future PD will include it just for nostalgic purposes :)

NOTE: My GNX ended up like a candle after a christmas party...

Along with Montlhery you can add AVUS and Brooklands (the 1st track ever made specifically for auto racing) to the list of beautiful banked turns.
